Confused by Pico PSU and Adapter ratings

Post by Lupine Lacuna » Thu Sep 26, 2013 5:37 am

If I have, say a 150w Pico PSU, what power adapter do I get in terms of wattage? I dont understand why on the mini itx site they put the 150w PSU for example, using the 102w adapter? Can anyone explain how this all fits together? Thanks!

This is max load we are talking about. Make sure the adapter can handle your computer, and make sure the picoPSU can handle your computer. No need to match the two. I've used a 180W adapter with a picoPSU 90W and a 60W adapter with a picoPSU 150W etc. As long as max load for the computer is less then the rating of either one you're fine.
