Hard drive space inconsistency

I am having trouble finding out why my hdd space is different depending on where i look at it. Under my computer, i see 186gb. When I run spacesniffer or windirstat, i see only about 40gb.
In Computer Mgt, it is also 186gb.

Are you talking about free, used or total space? Run Windirstat as an administrator or else it cannot see everything. Even as admin it can't normally see a few things, so if you have a lot of system restores or previous versions that would explain the missing space.

It found a backup that i completely forgot I did. And I remember that it's not even complete since there wasn't enough space to complete properly.
