Corsair TX650 clicking
Hello. I have a recent build with a Corsair TX650 PSU that made an annoying clicking/ticking sound at low load and without the fan running. It was returned, but the replacement makes the same sound. I wondered if any members have experience with this model. If this is the sound it will always make, I need to put away money towards something else instead of paying any more shipping needlessly. I had read a positive review of the model here (although it is now retired from the recommended PSU list, and I think mine is a later version in any case. My model is CMPSU-650X) and it's a shame that it's the loudest part of the system (Fractal R4 with the 2 stock fans as front intakes, a Phanteks 140mm exhaust and an i5 with 212 Evo cooler- stock fan replaced with Scythe Slipstream). Here is a video (not mine) of a unit making a similar sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWE9e9ZEJOE Any input greatly appreciated.

Re: Corsair TX650 clicking
I had a similar issue with my Rosewill SilentNight. I turned off this "power loading" feature in my BIOS (Z87 Gigabyte) under the power management system. After about a week, the buzz in my PSU finally went away. I had tried about everything before this and also RMAed and still had the same problem.
I hope this helps!

I've tried disabling every power-saving cpu feature I could find. Nothing has helped so far. This is on an Asrock Z77 board.
Re: Corsair TX650 clicking
Corsair is offering to upgrade me to an HX650, which seems like enough of an upgrade to justify a trip to the UPS store. If anybody has any dire warnings that the HX series will only make the problem worse, now would be the time for them.
Re: Corsair TX650 clicking
The HX650 has been installed and is quiet. Finally.
