Fractal Design Core 3000

Post by Sirius » Fri Apr 11, 2014 2:08 pm

Im looking or a replacement for my old Chieftec case, and would appreciate if anyone has some info on Fractal Design 3000 case?
The main thing that concerns me is the clicking noise of the fans. Fractal Design Core 3000 comes with
2x140mm Silent Series R2 fans (hydro dynamic bearing)
1x120mm Silent Series R2 fan (hydro dynamic bearing)

To sum it up: does the Fractal Design Core 3000 has clicking/ticking fan noise problem?

I had an unpleasant experience with Antec gx500 fans which (two cases under rma) had an extreme clicking noise problem. So, any suggestions or case recommendations are welcome :)

Seems like there shouldnt be any clicking noise, thank you for the reply.
I'd just like to be sure that Fractal Silent Series R2 fans dont have this: (fan noise tests on youtube).

I've only listened to the 140 mm model (many samples) and the 92 mm (two samples) of the Silent Series R2 line of fans and they're good. For now I'm using that 140 mm exclusively for my main rig and other personal builds, after having tried some other 140 mm fans with worse results when regulated well below their default speed. The 140's start reliably down to 5V while the 92's need a bit more. Haven't tried the 120's unfortunately, but the 140 mm size is getting so much more common these days.

So, Fractal Design 140mm silent series R2 fans have no clicking noise?
In that case, it just might be the right solution to get core 3000 with 2x140mm fans+1x120mm fan.

Any info on Corsair stock fans (cases 200R, N500) - clicking noise?

According to SPCR's recent review of the Fractal Silent R2 140mm and 120mm, they're both smooth: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1379-page5.html

No problem with the fans in mine (purchased mid last year) I even bought some more because they were nice and quiet :)
