Congrats! Here's to 12 more =p.

Since it's all about smaller components, I wish a wider array of ITX cases were reviewed. Even if the audible aspects are predictable, no one goes over these cases in as much detail as SPCR does for me.

Time is *flying* by ...

Time flies like an arrow, and fruit flies like a banana! :)

A fun coincidence: I use DataCAD for my work, and yesterday April 1st was the 30th anniversary of that program!

Congrats!

"SCPR is 12" - shouldn't it say SPCR in the title?

What has SPCR done for me over the years?

Perhaps you should view an item from this silencer's ragbag gragbag, circa 2005. Can you guess what it is?

No googling! Filters and cropping have been applied for a bit o' sport:

Nidec vs non-Nidec motor based HDDs and noise levels. That's a blast from the past.

Right you are. The Samsung SpinPoint P80 series used Nidec and JVC motors, the former believed to produce less high-frequency noise and a slightly lower dBA differential between idle and seek. I still have my SP1213N, the 120GB, PATA version. It was probably a bit noisier with its two platters than the single-platter, 80GB version.

Next up is a little gem that should predate the P80:
DSCN4474a.jpg
It's presented on a bottle cap and at an unusual angle. The color probably gives it away.

Yes sir, it's the Zalman ZM-NB47J northbridge heatsink! It replaced the noisy HSF on my Abit NF7-S Rev.2 northbridge. In the summer of 2004, it was part of my first concerted effort to reduce the noise of my PC.

What was a product for "over-clockers" called the "Super Tornado" doing on SPCR? Which company made this ironically-marketed contraption? Absolutely no searching online!

I guess that's too easy for anyone who has read just some of the SPCR PSU reviews: it's Seasonic.

All of my questions should be easy for anyone who actually owned the product or read reviews of it. If it was too hard, we couldn't take a trip down memory lane together. On the other hand, "anyone who has read just some of the SPCR PSU reviews" should not have been able to guess this last one, because the marketing presentation of the Super Tornado is different than any subsequent Seasonic PSUs, and it was reviewed over 10 years ago! The actually-appropriate Super Silencer moniker used similar graphics but was reviewed around the same time.

My Seasonic SS-400FB was the A3 Revision which ironed out the kinks of an otherwise excellent PSU for the time. Gotta love that 80% efficiency!
DSCN4502a.jpg
This next one was used in silencing circles--including on SPCR's forums--long before SPCR was able to test it. The sleeved cable did not come stock. What was its nickname? As usual, please do not look through any SPCR reviews to determine the answer.

Got to be Panaflow 80mm. Matsushita is the parent company of Panasonic, hence the giveaway.
