Quite a battle over the 12 and 13 spots. I expect this could go back and forth for weeks or months, both on your way up through the ranks. The two of you could be 7 and 8 by the end of the year. Either one of you or both could be at 40,000 points when the big ball drops. That kind of competition is fun, to have and to watch, and good for the cause.

Explain something to me. The graphs at extremeoverclocking show Cosine's trend line heading up, with a current production of 350 points per day, while tangled has a steady trend line with a daily production of 340, so how is it that tangled has overtaken Cosine? Just an oddity in the way the statistics are charted?

Oh yay, I made it into the top 100, so I no longer have to click to the 2nd page. Once I get to 78 or better, I'll only have to page down once to see my name. :D

My challenge is to see
1) if I can get back to 10th
2) how long I can stay there
before I get trampled by both of you!

According to Arachnid stats, Cosine could again overtake tangled! Based on the last weeks production, the date is 12/17.
According to DAILY production, the date is 12/5!

That 600+ point day for Cosine definitely looks like an aberation...
But IS it, or is this the start of a serious challenge?

Stay tuned...

:D

The answer to 2 was "not very long.

As for #1, I don't think 10th is on your radar any more. You are 12th now. MikeC is on his way to dropping out of the Top 10, but Warped Platter will pass you before you pass Mike, and not far behind him is mas92264 and Frank_Condron. MORE COAL :!:

Trying to figure out where folks are headed in the rankings?

I've been using the Arachnid/Dyyryath's stats page for this. Can nicely order the listing by whatever column. Click on 'Last Week Points' and you'll see where folks are in production relative to everyone else.

Click Me

Right now I see that I'm 20th in production, but 28th in rank. So if things held out the way they are now, I'd settle out in 20th position.

Yeah, zerothelement's stats are cool in that you can sort the data in different ways. Kinda slow on the updates - can be several hours behind "actual," tho.

EOC stats gone again.

Actually, with the LiquidNinjas stat sigs I've got going here, I don't check the stats pages nearly as much. I just check out my sig when I post to see what my PPW (averaged over 2 weeks iirc, thus the difference to EOC) and score are at, as well as the unlikely event I've moved in rank.

Yep, sorting is verrrry nice, though I miss the lovely colored graphs of EOC. A quick sort shows I'm #10 in production. Hmmmm, I think I'll keep looking at total points where I can feel semi-smug for a while.

tragus, no one even on your radar until mid next year. At 3K PPW and an 18K lead over 7th, you will be tough to catch. Not that some of us won't give it the ol' college try though.

Well, I might have a small advantage, still. Perhaps those 8+ years of graduate school haven't gone to waste after all. :?

As I'm fond of saying, "That's DOCTOR a**hole to you." :P

I have my own nemesis. PaleMelanesian. I thought he was behind me, and well, he was, for a while. Now he's ahead of me again.

Heh. :P

Don't look for me to keep up this pace, though. It's fun while it lasts, but you really can't make these machines work any faster. It looks more like an alignment of the stars than a sustainable production jump.

As documented in another thread, I have lost the last two WU's on my Athlon 2000+ system. Apparently there is some incompatibility between all versions of the Linux console since 3.24 Beta and the glibc package. That puts me back to using 3.24B on that machine. All total, that machine hasn't produced a point in over a week.
