Hey people,
this is my first post in here
I'm wondering that there's so little info about the Alphatech PAL8942 to be found on this site! Even though I really liked the Heavyweight P4 Heatsinks Roundup, I think that they ought to have also tested this heatsink. Whatever, they'll probably (and hopefully) do that in the near future.
I've read quite some reviews from "standard" sites about this heatsink but I want to know about its qualities as a low noise solution. Please add what system you're running it on (see my signature for my specs) and what temperatures you're seeing (if possible)...
Thanx in advance...
Regards,
TheEagleCD

Works bitichin for me. I have it mounted on my P4 2.66, OCed to 3.0Ghz with a Panaflo L1A as the fan. Max Prime95 load temps are in high 40C to low 50C range, depending on ambient temps. Daytime temps here in Sunny SoCal have ranged from high 50F to high 80F during the last two weeks so my ambient room temps have been bouncing around a lot as well.
