First of all, use RealTemp to monitor the cores DTS (core temp): then, how much high your ambient temp is? Which thermal paste did you use?
Hi QFS,

RealTemp is reporting similar #s to HWMonitor for each individual core.
Ambient Temp is 22C @ 33% humidity and I'm using ARCTIC MX-4 thermal compound.

I'm going to report back after a bit more testing as I was reviewing the SPCR reviews and it looks like I was running Prime95 with the different options compared to the review standard. I was using small FFTs instead of large FFTs. I'm going to test again and report back.

Going to also try offset undervolting to see if it makes much of a difference.

Thanks,
- Edirol

OK, I think I'm done tinkering and I'm happy with my current temps after undervolting the 4690k. Tested stable with Prime95 28.7 (Blend) and Furmark 1.17.0.0 Burn-in /w Post-FX for 24h.

I didn't hardcode the fan speed/voltage to normalize the results, but you can still see the improvement.

Ambient Temp: 22C
Ambient Humidity: 33%

Software:
HWMonitor 1.28.0
Prime95 v28.7 build 1

Stock Voltage:
Idle Voltage: 0.720V
Ran Prime95 Small FFTs for 5m
Load Voltage: 1.090V
Package Temp (hottest core): 62-65C
CPU Fan RPM: 1011-1040RPM

-0.113 Core Voltage Offset:
Idle Voltage: 0.608V
Ran Prime95 Small FFTs for 5m
Load Voltage: 0.983V
Package Temp (hottest core): 55-58C
CPU Fan RPM: 817-833RPM

Hi guys, I read the review of this cooler and I was asking myself if it can be a good choice for my new rig:

I7 5820K
MSI X99A SLI KRAIT
16GB DDR4

I would like to overclock to 4.3-4.5Ghz but my principal concern is noise. Is it the best I can get? I will switch tha pre installed fan to the exhaust part of the heatsink and put a NB eLoop B12-2 in the front as intake. Is there any problem? Will let me reach the oc I want and still be quiet? (in idle I mean, not in full load where I don't care beacuse I'll have headphones)

For that heat load, the Ninja 4 is probably better.
