A 92mm fan in SFX is interesting. Although SFX-L allows for a 120mm all SFX PSUs I've seen are 80mm or smaller.

Wonder who the OEM is.

I really hope SPCR gets their hands on one of the units. Looking for a good SFX for a long time now.

Corsair has finally made the right move, which they allegedly hesitated for a long time due to less profitability. I wonder whether Corsair SF450 is quieter than SilverStone ST30SF. That is, the fan profile of Corsair SF450 suggests that the fan is idle up to 90W-135W and it does not show exactly when the fan is turned on. As far as my experience with SilverStone ST30SF goes, the fan remains idle up to 120W. In light of relatively low power usages of the two PSUs, I honestly do not really care about the power efficiencies as long as their fans do not rotate up to 120W or higher.

Personally, I'd like to see more low-power units, 300W or even 200W. With the forthcoming advent of Pascal GPUs, I'm not planning to go for any GPU necessitating PCI-E power plug. Thus the peak power consumption of my rigs will not exceed 150W.

This one right here.
Imagine a quality 300W Titanium-rated SFX unit equipped with 92mm Nidec Gentle Typhoon.

It would be noisier than necessary: ball bearings are always more noticeable.

Also lot of focus on the fan and noise in that review.

If anyone in the UK is interested in either model, it looks like Scan already have some stock available - £69 & £99. I've not seriously considered an SFX-based system so far, but this might be the tipping point.

I'm waiting to see if it will pass your "sweater" test (right today I noticed you're no more on JG, Pavel).

Well…Wolf, I guess  Cause actually, there is MUCH MORE to the Link than what I initially posted there.

Each tiny problem would be nothing I guess, but combined, also with the fact people now and than complain for at least THREE YEARS in Corsairs official forums, and yet NOBODY CARED…at least until know when I've been talking to several Corsair ppl for so long they agreed they'll forward it to higher channels :D Because really, with this attitude, you know what? One day the Windows 7 support would have been dropped just like Vista, with NO official word. Win 7 is considered OK system (though the difference to modded Vista is negligible, really), so that may finally hurt a few people…too late, it will be already over. So if nothing else, at least we will hopefully soon see some official statement about SW requirements…

I guess now you may also see some point in my "ranting" towards that wonderfull HardOCPs "review" of ZDPMS? To my knowledge, to this day they did not cover the Corsair link app AT ALL. They may have noticed these problems if they did…makes you really wonder about their reviewing thoroughness. Combined with their long obsolete O-scope (they are the last web still using it I think)…nah, I don't go there anymore and there will be no more links from my czech spin-off of the RHTX database.

Than they all of sudden come up with totally unimportant "review" of ZDPMS and even make self important statements when I clearly state they said *nothing* worth of so many pages, which could not be in the PSU review itself. Just like I before in my Digifanless review (worth maybe a single A4 page?). This makes me laugh even more now with the Link problems nobody cared to point to in SO MANY years it is on the market already. I mean really, I wonder, what are all the other reviewers doing? Trying to just push out as many articles as possible? Than I wonder further, what are such articles worth than? What else are they missing? Just thinking out loud, not accusing anybody. Sometimes my reviews take really long time to come out, but I am trying to get every last bit of information I can. You may notice I always try to even find out true fan specs, just waiting for Be Quiet! fan specs ATM. Finally, if we are too OT here, surely some mod can move it to separate thread…

The number look OK ish for a 92mm fan, 1k-1.3k is around slightly quieter than a quiet HDD. 350w will take a i5 + 970 at Max load.

Probably don't want hotter components if going sff anyways.

Tomshardware review:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cor ... ,4512.html

SPCR identified the power supply as the loudest component in the latest Raven case so it will be interesting to see the Corsair units compared to the Silverstone.

<Sigh> Looks like they got too aggressive on the fan profile.

No shortage of reviews of these units (understandably).

Though, up to now, the only really interesting one is Tom's review.
