The ST3120024A has 8 MB cache, there are none available on the web.
I wish we could explain why there are over 800 in inventory at Synnex:

Going slightly OT but I'm wondering why HDDs only have a few megs of cache anyway with ram so inexpensive. Sure, I understand the argument that a larger cache makes for bigger search times, but even a HUGE cache in RAM is going to be a lot faster than reading from a platter.
Myabe I'm missing an impotant point - by my understanding the HDD's cache stores frequently read data in a look up table so the next time the controler asks for it there's no need to read the drive. Why not a 32meg cache, or more?
