I'm looking at making/buying a quieter PC, but size and looks are important.
Has anyone here considered a Hoojum (ex-NetCube) box? (http://www.hoojum.com) They look lovely, and come in VIA and P4 configurations, but I don't know how quiet the P4 will end up. If anyone's seen/given a review of this aspect of these lovely boxes, I wouldn't mind being told where to find it...
Ta,
Tom.

I've seen these discussed at Sudian Forums. That's pretty much "the" place to go for discussion of SFF systems, although their idea of "quiet" isn't quite the same as ours here at SPCR.
Ta for that info, I'll see if anyone there has any experience with quietening these lovely little things. I'm not sure there's much chance of fitting an oversized heatsink or a silent HDD cage/box, but maybe something can be done.
I note the VIA boxes come with:
* "Temperature controlled 80mm Arctic chassis fan (<19dB)"
* "Backplate adaptors for Morex 55W, Lex 60W and Lex 125W DC Power supplies." This would imply an extenal PSU, passively cooled, I guess?
The P4 boxes come with:
* "2 x Papst 80mm ultra-quiet fans"
* "Swiftech MCX478 Copper Cooler" http://www.swiftnets.com/products/MCX478-V.asp
