Suggestions needed for suspending a water pump

The pictures show the current setup of rig#1. I need to add a PCI sound card and the pump is blocking all of the PCI slots. Keeping everything internal to the case, the only reasonable solution I can think of is to remove the 3.5 bay and suspend the pump under the 5.25 bays and over the heatercore. Considering the pump is an Ehiem 1250 (kind of heavy and bulky), what elastic material would be a good choice for suspending it securely? Suspending it will also solve the common problem of mild vibration; otherwise it is a quiet, reliable pump.

I'd use a pad of 1/2" sorbothane foam under the pump. It's the same stuff that Ralf used to get rid of Samsung spinpoint vibration. You can get it at mcmaster.

Pump vibration is not the problem. I must move the pump to be able to install a PCI sound card; the pump is too wide. The onboard left channel audio doesn't work and this is going to be my gaming rig.

You might consider using small diameter bungee cords to hang the pump. Zip ties would work for securing them to the pump. Use a 90 degree elbow on the top of the pump. If your careful removing the drive bay you could re-install it later if needed.

Your liquid system is almost identical to mine 8) , what kind of temps do you get?

I've changed the water setup enough that previous temps aren't really comparable; different pump, new case, different copper elbows, different heatercore fan, and no gpu block.

Previous cpu die temps with just a cpu block in rig#2's case (see below) were low-mid 40s at 100% load. The xp2500 was overclocked to 2.4-2.5 GHz. I'm expecting that or better temps with the upgraded water system.

I've got mine mounted in an Antec SX835 case. It only has one HD cage so I cut out the front below the HD cage and mounted the heater core there with zip ties I had similar temps with a XP2100 Palimino. It looks likes any other beige box with the door on (no window).

Here is how I hung pump in my first iteration. I wold relocate t-line to top of loop though. When filling loop be sure and place case on it's back so pump can become saturated.

Eh I suppose I should tell you what I used. I cut up an old intertube from my bike and some zip ties. Zero vibration and zero noise.:)

It is really tight around the pump but I managed to put the soundcard into the open PCI slot next to the video card and leave the pump in the original location. Here's some results at 2.4GHz (215x11) with Swiftech MCW5002 and MCW50 blocks, Ehiem 1250 pump, shrouded chevette heatercore with a 120x38mm fan at ~1800RPM, and 1/2ID clearflex tubing. The copper elbows and T are a true 1/2 ID. The temps may get better as the AS3 "settles" in the next few days.

Idle ~39C cpu die temp
100% Load ~42C cpu die temp
add 3C if the front panel is on; it restricts inlet airflow.

GPU load changes didn't seem to affect cpu temps. I tested idling in 2D@270/270 and hard 3D@370/340. This surprised me.
