Spire, Falcon Rock II

Post by Rod M » Fri Feb 07, 2003 6:17 pm

as some of you know, I run a small online cooling business www.lownoisepc.com

recently I have been retailing this HSF called the Spire Falcon Rock II,

and it has been getting some excellent feedback at the Australian Forum www.overclockers.com.au:

http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showt ... genumber=1

also Dan (from www.dansdata.com) has just finished his review with excellent results, http://www.dansdata.com/coolercomp_p5.htm#sfr2
So what we have here is a solid performer from any fan power level. The FalconRock II is an excellent choice if you want a quiet PC, and if you stick a quite modest normal case fan on it instead of its metal-framed stocker, it transforms into a proper overclockers' cooler. Highly recommended.
in my own testing this HSF performs better than the 6000cu on low while being a little bit noisier, and because it uses a 80mm fan it can easily be replaced with a quieter Papst or Panaflo fan , in my case I use a Zalman Fan Mate to make it quieter,

although most of you are in N.America and Europe I recommend that you guys have a look, and if the Guys from SPCR could contact their local Spire office to organize a review,

I would love to see the Falcon Rock II reviewed in the same manner as "Heatsink Roundup: 4 Socket-A Heavyweights" was done,

thanks
