Yup, that's right, SLK3800. Nothing much really, just a SLK3000B with a SmartPower 2 power supply.

hmm...you can't buy it on their website yet, perhaps they're still building inventory.

I don't like it, though; give me the opportunity to buy a Seasonic any day. It's precisely what makes the 3000B so attractive to most of us.

Yeah, seems like a strange move to me.

Even the people who aren't after a "quiet" PC probably think that they need at least 600W+ these days, and wouldn't feel comfortable with "only" 400W.

It's probably not a very risky move on their part though. They won't have to spend any money on R&D, only artwork, since they already sell the case and PSU separately.

I wouldn't say that its totally useless. I build computers for various peole at times who want something quiet but not necessarily silent. its $150 for a Seasonic S12-430, whereas this bundled combination will probably be able to be found for less than 100. Given that the new smartpower's are quieter than the previous ones, it very well might be a good option for those trying to save a few dollars.

Speak for yourself, I would guess that what most people like about the 3000B is all the little tweaks over the 3700 AMB and/or BQE. And, AFAIK, no one has yet said anything bad about the smartpower 2.0's. This thing'll only be ~$18 or ~$28 extra, if it costs as much as a 3700AMB or 3700BQE.

I've only found it at a couple of the smaller UK shops, best price (£72) at morecomputers, but there's not a great difference between their price and shopping around for a 3000B and the same psu. And you lose the flexibility of psu choice.

I'd be quite happy with a SLK3000B/350W if the combo price was the same (around £60) as the SLK3700BQE. Are you listening, Antec? ;)

I thought the SLK-3800B had an option to put a 80mm fan between the cpu duct and the side panel. So in a way, it's not identical to the slk-3000b. Whether adding a fan there would help in anyway.. i don't know.
