Looks like Arctic-Cooling has one more Accelero cooler, the S1, a passive cooler.

It looks very nice, and it got enough spacing between the fins for low air flow systems.
But I really can't imagine it being attached to a card, it looks like it wouldn't be enough room on the card for the fins, too much components in the way. I hope I will see it mounted soon.

I think it's a move in the right direction, however judging by the size it will only be able to cool mid to low range cards only...

horrible design. only full size cases will allow the space around the edges of the card to allow the use for this thing.

what they need to do is making somthing like the V-1 Ultra but without the large heatsink on the GPU side of the card.

I like it, in contrast to the VM-102 my northbrigde heatsink will not be a possible obstacle for installation, but I doubt this cooler will perform any better.

Well concerning performance, the heatsink dissapation area is much, much smaller than that of VM series, however it also has much shorter heatpipes to transfer heat, so it should be a little more efficient. In the end who knows if it will be a good cooler.

Apparently it'll be for X1300 and X1600 series of graphic cards.

there was also a display for the Accelero S2, however a product was "MIA" in the display window, the specs however do list new ATI cards and the 7800 series

I like it. Most cases will have easily enough space for that, and it also looks better than most bling-bling coolers.

That cooler must be huge to be able to cool X1800/1900 passively

A bit of info from Arctic-Cooling:

Quote:
The Accelero S1 is a High-End solution compatible with NVIDIA 7900 series specifically also for the GT versions.
For NVIDIA 7800 GS (AGP) the next High-End solution to launch is the Accelero S2. Whilst the Accelero S3 is compatible with ATI's X1300/X1600 series and NVIDIA's 7600 series. All patented passive designs ensure no noise and high cooling performance. The S series will be available starting June 2006.

Hello there.

Not long after buying a new card. And it seems to be overheating a bit.

Up to about inbetween 62 C/68 C.I take it thats considered high ? Thats playing a game though, normal, its around 50 ish.

Anyway 1 or 2 two of my games have crashed since getting the card. The system freezes and i have to power it off.

So this led me to buy an accelero x1. Id been readin in the reviews everywhere about how quick and easy it was to install. So i was pretty confident id manage.

After a while i was convinced this wasnt going to fit my card. When i treid to line up the four holes which surround the GPU and the ones on the cooler. It wasnt goin to fit. Ive phoned up the place where i got it and the technicians goin to get back to me... ... . .. .......

However i seen on this site a post from someone whos card had died on them, and was thinkin of getting a new card. One of his options was the card i have. Xpertvision 6800Gs super 512 AGP. Someone had replied with this in there post.....

''GeForce 6800GS
This would easily be the best bet for me I think with it's reasonable performance but still low price tag of AUD $300 (USD $230). However, the only one I can get at that price is the XpertVision one, which I hear has an HSI AGP-PCI-E bridge chip, so that an NV Silencer 5 definitely won't fit. Does anyone know if the upcoming Accelero S1 or S2 might fit the 6800GS? If yes then I think I'll pick up one of these cards. ''

Does anyone know for definete if this is why i cant get the accelero x1 to fit, because of this HSI bridge chip ???

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Your temps are fine, all of the modern GPUs run hot. I've seen mine go up to 80, but I prefer not to torture it like that and turn up the fan speed to cool it down. If your system crashes, then there is something wrong with the system, it's possible your PSU can't handle it, it's possible your video card is defective, it's possible you're getting memory errors, but I don't think it's the GPU temps.

Concerning S1 fit, I don't think anybody can tell because no specs were released yet. Even so, there is always confusion about AGP and PCIe versions because as you have found out they often have different layout.
