To All Members of SPCR Forum,

Lately, many of our customers have referred me to this site for further explanation on some messages posted by "ExoticPC". As General Manager of ExoticPC.com, I would like to post my official statement.

The owner of ID "ExoticPC," currently "SilenX," is Peter Kim. He joined our company in 2002 while he was having one year off from college. Recently, Peter had some differences from our direction. Although Peter and I made efforts in resolving the differences, Peter wasn't happy with the arrangements I offered. Peter decided to start his own business, SilenX. Since Peter decided go on his own, we have been receiving some bad rumors from SPRC forum members. He has posted numerous messages stating that ExoticPC is going out of business.

This is far from the truth. ExoticPC.com has the highest reseller rating ever. ExoticPC SilenX products will ship within 24 hours as always. Please feel free to contact for any further details.

Thanks for your post, Louis.

So what I'd like to know is this: Who actually makes the SilenX PSUs? Exotic PC? Or SilenX?

I hope you guys can get this whole mess sorted out, as the PSU looks like an excellent product. To SPCR members, let's keep in touch with eachother here so that we all know what's going on. Also, let's not take sides either, eh? That's just gonna lead to misery for everyone.

Well I guess I won't be ordering from either company until this gets cleared up.

I also would like to know who owns the SilenX brand. I suspect that right now, either company has the capability to modify a Fortron power supply and make it as silent as a 'SilenX'.

If this started as a dispute between how to share the profits/credit between ExoticPC and a college kid named Peter Kim, well, that's just sad really and it's depriving us of a good product.

Yeah, that's how I feel. I'll wait until this clears up as well. Work it out, my friends! :)

I've had great correspondence with ExoticPC, particularly their willingness to ship to an APO address. I'm waiting for pricing on a Lian Li PC-6070, and once confirmed will order that and the 400W 14dB power supply.

I've gotten e-mails from both Mr. Lu and Mr. Kim, although I believe Mr. Kim was representing ExoticPC at the time. My e-mails to SilenX were kicked back to me as undeliverable, after which I forwarded to ExoticPC and answered by Mr. Lu. I'm ready to spend my money for the case and PSU, just looking, I guess, for the right place to do it.

Good for you, Louis. Put your money where your mouth is. I hope this all gets worked out. I'll be grabbing one of your little 350w beauties as soon as I can get me some dough.

yeaaah, um i may be missing something (a post somewhere?), buuuut your exoticpc.com is not exactly "functional" and its damn hard to find any silenx products on the web. Pricewatch is barren, froogle is just that, froogle in its results....uuum

You revived a thread that's been dead for two years to post that?

Yes, in the two years since this thread was relevant, exoticpc has been shut down. It's parent, Ahanix, is still very much in business.

If you're confused about the backstory around the "silenx" trademark, read the sticky in the Announcements forum, this press release from Ahanix.

And if you're looking for "Silenx" brand stuff you didn't look very hard. Try Silenx.com.

So let's lock this one up.

If for some reason ExoticPC rises from the ashes to start it's underhanded business practices once again, we can always unlock it.
