Wow, Coolermaster is a bit on the slow side. I emailed them when this power supply first arrived at other hardware-websites and asked them to send you guys a sample but better late than never.

I'm glad to see Cooler Master release a product that is decently quiet. My last experience with one of their power supplies, Extreme Power, was much less enjoyable.

really nice psu.

nice review :) good to have other options. The psu I bought a year ago was too pricey for what it was worth (corsair 620)

I wonder about the noise and efficiency profiles for the less powerful siblings...
Which one does best at 30W, 100W and 300W draw?

Cheers
Olle

Yes, it's too bad CM didn't send the Silent Pro 500 to be tested instead since that is far more relevant to most people (esp SPCR).

BTW the CoolerMaster link on the last page of the article actually takes you to to Chill Innovations

I don't think there'd be much if any difference in low power efficiency between those 3 models. The basic circuitry would all be the same. The lower rated models will not necessarily be more efficient at lower power. This model probably is a percent or so higher efficient at its peak, probably at a higher power point.

i have one CM, ( actually is the coolemaster pro 550W) and the fan was terrible. stuck a 1600 rpm s-flex in there and now is invisible ( at 500 rpm with a KAZE MASTER ACE the exhaust heat is super low) good psu.
