A number of SPCR favourites had interesting displays at CES 2007:

  • Antec showed off a number of new cases including the P182, successor to the wildly popular P180. Also shown was a half-height version of the Fusion, called μFusion.

  • Arctic Cooling took the opportunity to introduce their new, passive GPU coolers. The Accelero S1 and S2 will be familiar to regular readers: they are identical to those used on the passive PowerColor video cards found in the last news post.

  • Michael Dell used his keynote speech at the show to encourage the computer industry to embrace recycling, and offered to plant a tree for every Dell PC sold.

  • Both Fortron and Silverstone had new fanless power supplies on display. According to French hardware site Matbe.com, the Fortron is rated at 400W, and is 80-Plus certified, while the Silverstone packs 500W, two 12V rails, and a projected price over 200€.

Outside Las Vegas, Anandtech got their hands on three Micro-ATX cases, including the SPCR-reviewed QMicra, and compared them on the basis of heat, ease of use and, most importantly, noise level. The winner is certainly a surprise.
