Won't buy any corsair product with a mail-in rebate anymore - been burned too many times. Not suggesting corsair engineering isn't good, just that corsair marketing sucks. Ok, I picked up the TX650 on Monday for $100 and with the $20 rebate it comes to $80 ...not too bad !, surprise it was third on SPCR's list of recommended picks !

So far it is running as quiet as my Phantom 350 less the coil resonance and heat.

well i just checked, and my new Corsair TX650W have a squealing at cold boot because of the coils i think, as the components warm up inside, they dilatate and the PSU get quiet gradually. Seem like it's "coil whine" as some of you told me before. is the type of noise i have on my PSU is dangerous? ...

Availability of a product is also important ! Seasonic has been on the market for PSU for quite awhile and I can't find one retailer that is close to me, not many people are as crazy as members here to buy online and pay for shipping on top of paying over $100 for a PSU most think I am nuts, while C...

Quality: Corsair vs Seasonic

The term quality here means build quality, performance, customer delightment and better value for the money overall. After doing an extensive search and comparision, I would have to say Corsair offers better quality for the same or even less. Corsair Pros: 1. Higher wattage than Seasonic's offerring...

Corsair PSU Rebate

Just wanted to let everyone know that Corsair is offering a $20-$25 rebate on all its PSUs. Offer ends 31 July 2008 and you have a month to send in the application. Your invoice dated must be dated 31 July or earlier. Some merchants will have their own forms, but a majority do not and the customer i...

I would also resolder all the joints that were sheared off since fractures and cracks can result from it. We tried to, but unfortunately they are too big for my little 25W iron :( ... Thanks for the info, unfortunately the two local retailers for the Corsair don't seem to carry the 450VX and only the larger VX550 and up, guess they make more profits that way !

Trying to find a local Seasonic or Corsair retailers here in Montreal is a nightmare and a full time job !

Anyone heard or used or taken apart this brand of PSU ? My Antec Phantom 350 failed and I was in need of a temporary PSU before I can find a Seasonic unit locally. That is some sloppy workmanship standards, it does even look like Class 1 IPC-A-610 standards since computer equipment is suppose to be Class 2 ! I was able to find some 1/8" X 9" X 12" high density foam from a local Dollarama for 3 sheets for $1.00cdn(@$0.84us) and to boot it even has self adhesive backing. There was several colors to choose from; yellow, purple, red, white, light blue, navy blue, but I went with the traditional black instea...

How do you underclock the GPU ? you mean use proggies like ATITool ?

then forget it, I don't want another thing running in the background and slowing down my start-up time, but if i can change it through control panel or something, then it would be fine.

It sounds likely that one of three things is going on: 1) your card is overheating, try some high airflow and see if the problem still show up (i.e. point a desk fan into your case). Using thermal adhesive to attach the heatsink really isn't ideal because it leaves the heatsink hanging off the GPU....

I think my 3 year old Crucial ATI 9100 is dying, I'am seeing pixelated green lines start to form on my screen when it gets too hot. The original fan was removed and a heatsink was attached onto it for 9 months now and its starting to act up now, so what is the fastest non fanned card out there ?
