Can the 965M chipset do this or is this long into the future?smilingcrow wrote: With the right chipset they are capable of reducing the FSB to 400MHz at idle which gives a speed of 600MHz, which should allow a lower VCore.

Thanks for the link but I'm not after a mobile CPU because of the limited motherboards. That why I wrote G965 as an option. My E4300-based build with a full-sized hard drive and 7600GT idles at 75 Watts, tops out around 130 Watts, for comparison. Your setup minus the hdd would be about 10watts less....

C2D system watts: How low can you go?
I would love to run a Core 2 Duo system with a PicoPSU. In order to do that the complete system would have to draw less than about 100W max. The only requirement I got, is the ability to run Vista AERO. I don't care about games. I was thinking about using a NAND disk as system drive. That should low...

The Watts Up? meter is around 100 Watts so power consumption looks okay. I assume it will be lower when I am done with the install and EIST can kick in. Thanks alot for the infomation but but it's really useless to us without knowing the specs of your setup. That with a 8800GTS GFX? 3 SATA drives? ...

Hitachi E7K100
Mike tested this drive and found it to be exellent. Since the E model, made for servers and such, is extremely hard to find i was wondering if the non-E model would work just as good for me. I will be using the 2 drives with mirror 1 in a server, and therefor it will be on 24/7. I would greatly appr...

Merom: Asus N4L-VM DH vs. Gigabyte GA-8I945GMMFY-RH
Hi guys, I'm getting an T7200 Merom now its in stock here and i need a motherboard for it. Digging in it seems like there are two options for me right now. Conroe with PicoPSU?
I would love to run a system powered by a picoPsu 120W and i was wondering if it would be possible to run a system like this:
CPU E6300/E6400/E6000
Intel 965G Asus P5B-VM (onboard gfx)
2Gb DDR2 RAM
2.5" HDD
That's it.. pretty "light" system, but will 110-120W be enough?
Thanks in advance.

I was thinking about making me a setup like this but using a Pico-PSU. I was wondering if it could pull the system under load.
