Re: Ivybridge low noise/power system

I'll try the Asus Fan software for the miniITX board later. The ASUS software package is pretty awesome for the GeneV board. First time even I would consider installing software that comes with a motherboard. Asus is far ahead of everyone else when it comes to the control software. I exchanged the I...

Ivybridge low noise/power system

Hi, If anyone cares, I have been playing around with some ivybridge CPU's and a couple of motherboards. My minimalistic ivy bridge system draws 25.1W from the wall in idle with screen/gfx on. Intel 3550 Asus P8H77-I Mini-ITX 2x2gb at 1.65V Intel 520 SSD 120GB PICO PSU I didn't have time to play with...

Any news on this issue? I'm getting an Ivy bridge and would love if my 7970 fan would turn off while not gaming.

Looking forward to more results on how low this baby can go ! :D

bit-tech.net has a review of the GA-MA785GMT-UD2H up now. The most positive thing I can say about this "new" chipset, is that AMD did change the name from 880G to 785G, all tough 780.1G would have been even more fitting. Seriously, if this is what AMD can come up with in 18 months of development, th...

I have to be honest and say I am a bit disappointed by this.
The 780g is what, 1½ years old now, and they dont even shrink the die.
I would rather have a HD3200 on 40/45nm then a HD4200 on 55nm.

Can you fit the HR-05 without any extra fittings besides what comes with the kit? I'm using a ninja on the CPU but the chipset gets way hotter than the CPU even at load.

Thanks for a very nice review.

Maybe you could test the integrated video performance with PowerDVD 7.3 and a BluRay/HD-DVD h264 movie? It's pretty much impossible to get around using PowerDVD if you want to use it as HTCP with HD media.
