The CPU shall be underclocked so i suppose it will be far from 45W.

The HDDs will probably be Samsung F1s, as i already have 2.

I will check your links thanks :)

Building a NAS, need advice for PSU

Ok, to start with, i HAVE searched the forum, but not all of it, so if anyone already has posted similar, please give me the link thank you. Allright. So i'm going to build a NAS with FreeNAS as 'OS' out of spare parts. I have a Gigabyte 780G board and a BE-2350 CPU. I intend to disable sound etc th...

I have no idea how wide the mini ninja is, but the width of the standard one makes it impossible to fit the regular HR-05

No, absolutely not. Perhaps 2/3 of what the MB did cost. Nothing shocking at all.

Thanks for you reply. Who knows, maybe i'll switch back to stock HS :) I too have the BE-2350 CPU. But i've noticed that RAM only reports to run at 349MHz. This with all settings on auto. Couldn't get it to run at 400MHz, as it's supposed to. It's a Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX. CPUID reports Fxx/6 ...

This topic made me get the TA690G :) And since some has noticed high temp on NB, i decided to be safe than sorry. I haven't got the gear into the case yet, so temps are unknown to me. I only wanted to show my solution of a possible problem. A videocard may fit, but it'll be tight. http://img223.imag...

Yes i noticed that. I have used pieces of cut foam to mount a rear fan on one of my computers. I just pressed it through the holes of the fan and then in the holes of the case. Put some tape around it so the air won't sneek through the wrong way. No picture though.

Great work Aleksi! Did you consider mounting the fan outside the PSU?
Then you could use soft fan mounts.

Would it be possible to fit the xbox360 HW in a HTPC case?
I.e. the Antec NSK2400? And then put some better heatsinks on?

The M12 seem to have a smaller open arera on the back plate than the S12E+. Closed around the AC connection and power switch.
Any idea why? Seems a bit strange to me.

Thick aluminium and somewhat low noise structure. Restrictive inlets but that's easily fixed. :)

So what would it take for a PC to be on par with the Squeezebox? A better than average soundcard? So i know what i'm dealing with.

My main stereo is...ok. I used to have better sound before i got into Home Theater stuff. But i don't complain at all.

How will a HTPC compare with this one? Mainly with a onboard soundcard and a S/PDIF digital output. Handling is also an aspect of it. I'm asking since the main reason for me to get a HTPC is to listen to music. I have a fairly decent DVD-player, and no HD-TV yet. Not for a few years i think. Thanks....

Thanks for all the advice. :)

The only reason i planned on getting a 939 mobo, was that i could take the RAM from my gaming rig and buy some better RAM for that one.
This creates new question. How much RAM is needed for a HTPC?
Will it be enough with 2*256 or 1*512?

Ok.
I was hoping that perhaps a Gigabyte GA-K8N51PVMT-9 or an ASUS A8N-VM/CSM would do the trick. Using onboard video and audio.
Is it?

What uATX mobo for a HTPC build?

I'm planning to build a HTPC in a month or two. Based on a Antec NSK2400 case and probably an AMD 3200+ 939 CPU. I've been looking for a mobo w a onboard graphics and sound. There are quite a few to choose from, but i'd like to have one with a TV-out and a S/PDIF out. Do you have any recommendations...

I'm really curious on the functionality of the VFD. Compared to a soundgraph iMon VFD.
Please make some notes of it when you get the fusion. It decides whether i'll get the fusion or the NSK w a separate iMon VFD.

How would a low power SLI config affect a dual rail PSU?

Let's say i was to buy a SLI motherboard and 2 nVidia 7600GT for a SLI configuration. These have their power fed through the PCI-E slot, right? What if they are powered by a, by these days, standard dual or multi rail PSU. Will the graphics cards and the CPU use the power from the same 12V rail? Or ...

The fact that the Accelero is on par with both VF900 and Thermalrights is impressive considering it has 'only' a 60mm fan that pushes ~10 cfm. To me that is a proof of better design. I bought one (the X1) today and will hopefully swap my VF700 for it. Assuming i can remove the ramsinks. I have a Pan...
