Mike, I had a problem with spambots on my forum. I was getting 10-15 new bots a day. The problem is the spam bot programs now are automated, they signup, follow the activation email links, and handle CAPTCHAs via workers in China/India. The solution I found that is still working was the PHPBB kitten...

2070SB, I loved it.~El~Jefe~ wrote:I have their pci 550 card.
I used it when i had a analog monitor. 2070sb mitsubishi 22". was a beautiful monitor.
the matrox was the only card to offer a clear picture for text and photos. no other card beat it.
dvi and IPS monitor.... You can use anything just about.

Probably none, unless you are looking for a very specific solution, like a quad monitor setup. It's probably cheaper to get a mobo that has 2 PCI-E GPU slots, and get 2 GPUs with 2 dvi ports on each, than to get a single matrox gpu with quad dvi ports. One of the big things, for traders, etc is dri...

I cannot comment on whether or not this is a good psu. XG claims the unit is 600w external fanless. The reviewer found a fan in the psu.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3500630AS 500GB has gotten tons of complaint about noise in the newegg ratings. Apparently it is noisier than the WD2500KS and the rest of the KS family by an easily noticeable amount I moved from 12x Hitachi 250GBs to 12x 500GB 7200.10s and I l...

I was getting the same echoing with the back fans unplugged. I ended up swapping out the 92mm fans and rear 80mm fans with some Arctic Cooling ones, (listed as 20dB and 24.5dB) and it seems to have helped a lot. It still sounds almost like a hollow tunnel, and nowhere near as bad as it was. I ended ...

I replaced the 80mm fans with some Arctic Cooling AF8s and the pair of 92mm fans with some Arctic Cooling AF9s and it definitely sounds less like bees in a cave, so that is good. I'd still like to quiet it down some more, there isn't any way I can suspend any of the drives, and all the fans are the ...

echoing case problem
I recently upgraded the RAID controller in my file server. Prior to this I was running my file server out of a midtower with everything packed in there pretty tightly. I chose components that were quiet enough for me to deal with, and things were good. I picked up the new RAID controller, which is s...

I considered the Zippy psu's but I didn't know how loud they were, and I had this 600W Enermax from my SLI box and was pleased at how quiet it was. The Supermicro 550w psu I had ran my dual xeon box loaded up with all kinds of ram and fun toys, but after about 5-10 minutes of running this file serve...

sch, I'd tend to belive the 430 would be enough for the 6800GT SLI. Tagan does make strong PSUs, but if it was me, I'd probably buy their 480 and not take a chance. My shuttle's 350W psu ran a pair of 6800GTs, 3 hdds, 3800 X2 overclocked, and 2GB ram. It currently runs the same with 2x 7800GTXs inst...

Well, no tay's suggestion does help (sort of). My 400GB seagates draw a lot less power than the 8x 250GB hitachis that make up the array (RAID 5+1 spare). I do plan on selling the array drives and single drives off later on and migrating to 500GB hdds, its just the price currently isnt where I'd lik...

PSU recommendations needed: help me replace my PCP&C 510
Just a note: I did read all the stickied threads before posting. :) I have a media server which sits in my closet. It isn't silent by any means. I run an ATI AIW video card which is passively cooled, my raid card and northbridge are also passively cooled. The rear of the case has a quiet 120mm fan, ...

If you decide on the Asus A8N, have a zalman chipset fan waiting. That chipset fan is notorious for going bad quickly. Mine lasted a few days before it was buzzing. I had the chipset fan unplugged and an 80mm fan with a fanmate on it within the first day after that, and a zalman heatsink on it withi...

Raine.. I dont own a Ninja CPU cooler, but I have an A8N-SLI and a TJ06. I'm currently watercooling my PC, but it appears as though that cpu cooler will fit in the path of the tunnel. Worst case scenario is you'd have to cut a little bit of the tunnel if the heatsink was sitting too high up in the c...

undefined.. I used a 400W seasonic tornado on a similar system, it worked fine and it has been a benchmark for how quiet I want a psu to be. This is what I was running with it- mobile 2500+, Abit NF7, 1GB ram, 7 hdds, dvdrw, 5900 then I upgraded to this: a64 s939 90nm 3500+, 1GB ram, Asus A8N SLI wi...
