Those are what I have. They work very well and are pretty inexpensive. I fly alot, so they were one of my favorite purchases.

Im not using XP, Im using Vista.

On a cold boot the pc does memory test, so that adds another 5 seconds.

Otherwise the pc boots and is ready to use in under 30 seconds.

Its a pentium D 805 with 2 gigs of RAM.

Er, thats exactly the system I built, except it has a non silent 7600GT instead of a silent 7600gs.

Id prefer not having to mod my own video card after I destroyed two 9800s. :o

Im waiting for newegg to start selling the X800XL silent version for $150, and Ill get that instead of the 7600GS.

Ok, Ill ditch the raptor and get OCZ Gold GX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 500 (PC 4000) for $200 instead. Ill just use one of the various HD's I already own.

The graphics card you picked is nice, but its $400+, the one I chose is only $130.

With usb you can use repeaters, they arent very expensive at all. Some things have issues with them (printers, scanners)

VGA will break down over longer distances, use DVI, it can go much further.

Audio cables will be fine over long distances.

Your powersupply puts out both 5v and 12v. If you plug your fan into the red(5v) and into a black (negative), then your fan is running at 5 volts. To get 7 volts, you plug the fan into both the red and the yellow(12v). That will give you 7 volts. But it puts a weird stress on powersupplies, so I ten...

SS-300 with fan swap still loud.

I swapped the fan for an older panaflo medium speed. And Ive got a PS duct, so I very much doubt the fan is running at any higher than 5-6v. But its still pretty loud. The panaflo is totally silent at 5-6v when Im holding it in my hand, so Im pretty sure its all vibration. Is there any way to softmo...

Look into the seasonic silencer. Should fit your needs pretty well.

I just bought one a week ago, and modded mine with a panaflo M1A, unfortunatly my panaflo ticks pretty badly, so im going to have to get another one.

stacking pumps does not increase the potential total CFM, but increases the pressure. If there is any restriction, the resulting pressure increase can increase real CFM.

There is probably a bios option to disable that warning. The issue isnt that the fan isnt working, its that its spinning so slowly, the bios thinks its off.
