mmm... can't say I've heard any vibration, only noise is the two stock fan's (120mm and 200mm) but I expected that.

After a week it's a very worth while investment.

timbo's Antec P180 mini desktop

Found a wee problem one day inside my case... http://homepages.slingshot.co.nz/~tim_donna/images/P180/dirtycpu.jpg Probably not the worst anyone has seen but since it's a lower spec' gaming rig I thought I'd better do something about this before summer gets too hot. Decided to splash out on an Antec...

haganerei The spdif connector on my MB is the three wire / four pin jobbie so I managed to get one on eBay easily, had to extend the wires as they would not get from above the PSU to the socket on the MB, easy job too. Looking at this; manual and ebay You should be able to adapt the connector i.e. m...

Re: Is NSK2400 really quiet (and good for Linux)?

...Is there a good motherboard for it that will handle Linux?... mmm what's meant by that? I've an Antec NSK2400 for my Gentoo Linux MythTV HTPC and it's great although my new ORANGE nexus fans have just arrived to replace the stock ones. Here's a link to my short writeup which I will update soon; ...

I was hoping to use a 7700 in my new NSK2400 but with the motherboard in there I found, for me, there's not quite enough room so the CPU must be a little further into the MB to allow the 7700 to fit without hitting the case fans.

Nice build. I see you were brave enough to drill holes in the side of your rack. I love the cable management, too. Just a quick question: Do you find you need both fans on the side? Thank's pretty standard at the moment... You can't see the rear of the rack just the front along with the fro...

For those interested, I've put all my HTPC gear into this case replacing my Silverstone LC11. Went with the NSK2400 and not the Fusion as I use the remote control to change the volume (I'm a couch potato) and you can't see the display once the equipment cupboard door is closed. http://www.silentpcre...

Antec NSK2400 HTPC Running MythTV - Another Update 27/02/07!

Hi everyone, Thought I'd put up some ramblings of my transplant of my HTPC boxn from a Silverstone LC11 to a SPCR recommended Antec NSK2400... My main reason for ditching the Silverstone case was noise, don't get me wrong it is quiet but not quiet enough, PSU running full snot and the side case fan ...

Thanks for the commens everyone... Yes the heatsink is noth firmly bolted to the aluminium sides and pressed hard down onto the HDD, I even spread some heat tranfer paste around for good measure. I like the way it works, you do really nedd some airflow to take some of the heat away otherwise the exe...

Here's my solution to keeping my cuda cooler by mounting a heat sink on top of the drive, like this; http://www.mypages.co.nz/~timbo/screenshots/hddsuspended.jpg I've not finished my case yet but the drive, as you can see, is at the top just below my cdrw. The PSU behind this has been closed off fro...

weeee first post. hi everyone, been reading for some time great place to ponder in silence.... Here is what I've done to my cuda 120g drive. Suspended in a 5.25 tray and bolted a heat sink to the drive to help cooling since you don't get the case as a heat sink any more. With a mod I'm in the proces...
