I installed a fanmate on my NV 5. I had to not only cut a little of the NV5's plastic shroud above the 2 pin connector on the graphics card, I also had to modify the 3-pin connector on the fan mate...but it works! Just make sure you connect the right 2 pins of the fanmate into the 2-pin connector on...

This does not seem like it would be a problem. I have an SL K8Tpro-939 and an XP-120 right now, and it seems very sturdy. As far as the temperature issuee, the new W1.4 BIOS does fix the bios reported temp, but as far as I know, Windows-based temperature monitoring programs still report incorrect te...

Thanks, that helps. I hadn't seen that chart before. The Aerocool claims the ability to dissipate more than 70W of heat, so I should be fine.

Could this possibly dissipate enough heat to cool a 6800? My NV5 is too loud an annoying, and I'm thinking this might be a viable alternative, if it can actually cool it efficiently enough

Thanks for the reply! I never even thought about PWM being the cause of the noise. I will attach a fanmate and see if that solves things. I don't think cooling should be too much of an issue, as right now temps. are great.

6800 + NV5 = too loud!

I installed an NV5 on my Chaintech AA6800 about 3 months ago. It was great then, as it replaced the whiny stock fan, and lowered my temps. Right now, my card is running at a balmy 41C idle and 60C under full load. Now to the problem....those 3 months have passed and I've slowly been quieting my rig,...
