Myka Ion
It's really fanless, but it's not really for sale. I think the company would really like to sell the product, but they have no estimate on an actual ship date. Buy the same components and build your own if you want something like that.

Laptop 44-pin IDE extension cables (M/F)
How's this?

It's a 24-inch M/F cable. They also make custom 44-pin cables (choose your length and connectors, but I doubt they have the connectors for your DVD drive. You might have to buy a USB DVD drive or USB enclosure.

Thanks again for your advice. I don't know if I'll ever want to overvolt. You're probably right that I'll never need to. I was just curious. Currently, I'm trying running at 335 (3.02 GHz) with my fans running at about 700-800 rpm. My CPU temperatures are safe under normal loads, but the whole case ...

Thanks for the advice
You're right that I want to avoid replacing the stock north bridge heat sink. I think for the modest overclocking I have in mind, it's probably adequate. If I decide to go that way (with a low profile CPU cooler, a Condor in the up position and stock north bridge/VRM heat sinks), should I avoid any ...

Oil Immersion
No, it's not terribly practical, but it could be fun and might be (almost) totally silent. I'd seen the Tom's hardware project, but it was done with vegetable oil and an acrylic or Plexiglas tank. Making the tank out of a thermal insulator that can be damaged by oil and using an oil that will go bad...

Oil Immersion
You could probably get pretty close to silent by immersing all the non-moving parts in a sealed tub full of mineral oil. I don't know how much heat this could disperse without active movement of the oil, but my guess is that a copper case the size of a standard tower would probably be able to get ri...

Love the build
This is mostly directed at Chris Thomson, but I'll welcome constructive advice from anyone. I have loved reading about this system and the forum posts about it. I especially love it because (except for the elaborate ducting - I'm not quite that handy) it is quite similar to the one I've been working...

No Complaints about customer service
Antec is certainly very eager to respond to the issues raised in this thread. My experience with writing to the address provided by the AntecRep is so bizarrely good that I have to report it. I sent an e-mail to srichards@antec.com at 7:34 pm describing my experience (describe above in this thread) ...

Let's not forget Enermax Whisper :) It would be hard to forget. It was about four times loder than the the generic power supply I bought it to replaced, even with its fan control knob turned all the way down (oddly it only controlls only one of the two fans). With my Antec Phantom dead, I had to re...

Mine worked for about 28 days. Unfortunately, I waited for about 4 days before installing it, so it failed more than 30 days after delivery. The merchant won't take it back after more than 30 days, so I'm stuck going to Antec for a replacement. I don't really want another one of these. I'd like my m...
