Re: Fanless Power Supply PC Build Guide

Very thought provoking article. I'm considering putting a fanless PSU in my P150 (aka Antec Solo White) case, now that the stock Antec Neo HE 430 is finally creating issues for me after so many faithful years. One thing I'm confused about though is the discussion/picture of the "typical old school A...

Don't know if you've already moved past your planning stage, but if not the Rosewill RC-CIX-01 may be of interest: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147133 I'm eyeing it myself -- it has a PSU, but it is in the front, and removing it seems to give some actual usable space, plu...

I agree. The "Recommended HDDs" section needs a major overhaul. In addition there are hard drives that really need a review, such as new Samsung F2Eco or the new Seagate 7200.12. I understand that it takes money, maybe some people will give these hard disk, if close enough to the SPCR's staff. Plea...

I don't know where you got this bizarre idea that I tool it personally. It helps if you don't just assume the worst. I guess it was from the fact you felt compelled to announce that you were not going to discuss anything with him any more. If that wasn't taking something personally, I'm not sure wh...

Interesting review of a product I did not know existed. But for the life of me I cannot figure out why you would ever look at buying this gigabyte 740g board for $65, where for $76 shipped (newegg) you can get the very highly acclaimed gigabyte 780g board (which also has HDMI and just about every ot...

The bottom line, imo, is that the question is moot. As long as you have one fan in there making some noise, whether you have a second fan making as little noise doesn't matter. There's no real perceived acoustic benefit to one versus two if both fans are really quiet -- the difference will easily b...

as the Ninja has wider fin spacing which makes it better for LOW airflow It's not such precise: The Ultra-120 beat the Ninja at every voltage level except the lowest, where the two were equal it is a better passive heatsink. Very likely, or so I mean. Luca That thread you link has this very clear s...

The article may not be 100% accurate, but it is good enough to let the causal reader know there are alternatives, and where to learn about them, and when they come here they can be set straight.

Congrats Mike! I didn't realize this was your "day job" ... must be nice ;)

They've been at this price for at least 10 days, mine were delivered on Monday (although the E model was $9.99 too then). Don't know if that reassures or not.

Yow, $260-$350. It sounded intriguing 'til then. Comparable micro-ATX AM2 690g boards with HDMI can be had for $70 or less, so they're charging a LOT for the form factor.
