It seems Antec are blaming Asus atm. I have a Rev 1.02 board - as suggested by Antec - but get the random crashing. I have to give back the borrowed PSU soon, so do I buy an new PSU for £50 or a new Socket 939 Mobo ? My concerns are if I get a new board, will the Neo HE work OK with it? TBH probably...

I have mailed Antec Europe support about swapping the NeoHE for a different 430w PSU or a Neopower and they said they could only swap like for like :?

Doesn't look good to ever get one working with my board

I too have a Neo -HE 430 and Asus A8N SLi premium rev 1.02 - crashes roughly every 30 minutes.

Have asked Antec to swap for a NeoPower 480 - see what they say :)

Shame because the Neo HE is very quiet :(

Put back in my old Enermax 485w Noisetaker and everything is OK again :(

Right - as I cannot use the Neo HE 430 supplied with my P150 with my A8N SLI Premium, I have a friend who may want to buy it off me.

He has a MSI Neo-4 Platinum.

I assume the Neo HE problem is limited to Asus and the MSI board will work okay with the PSU?

Yes m0002a I don't think I can RMA just the PSU to Kustom PCs.

And a replacement neo HE would be no use either.

I wonder whether Antec would swap it for a different supply -maybe a NeoPower?

Will try and contact Antec next week.

Sorry you may have misunderstood my post on OCUK. I was referring to the bottom chamber fan in the P180 - not the fan in the PSU. :) No chance of any pictures yet. Will obviously post some when I have a chance. Yes your wire idea is a good one, but I like the idea of the foam for extra insurance. :o...

Right answers to your Q's guys:- frankgerhy - well I have a baseline test as the Antec Neo HE has incompatibility issues with the A8N SLI Premium :( so swapped it out for - guess what - an Enermax Noisetaker 485w. And you are right, the Enermax ramps up less than the Neo HE (when it worked :? ) and ...

Sorry to hear that :( Spec: San Diego 3700+ Asus A8N-SLI Premium (Rev 1.02) 1gb Corsair X800XL (Club 3d) 200gb + 80gb WD HD 2 x DVD Pretty standard fare. I must say I have very mixed views on Antec ATM. The CASE is superb - love it to bits and has been designed fantastically well. The PSU - I fail t...

To qualify the issue further I have NOT had a crash in Windows / general browsing etc yet. The PSU has turned off twice during gameplay - World of Warcraft - once after 40 mins and once after 15 mins. No warning, no blue screen, just turns itself off. Hope Antec can sort this problem soon - dont rea...

But I do have a Rev 1.02 Asus A8N- SLI premium board which Antec reckon has no issues. :(

Same problem here w/ Neo 4E in the P150.

Low rails : - 12v = 11.84v 5v = 4.78v 3.3v = 3.2v

Random shut down during gameplay - and YES I do have a Asus A8N SLI Premium.

Not best pleased to be honest.

Are the low rails a fault of the board or the supply?

Good Question Mate. Yes I have a P180 and P150 next to each other. The P150 IMHO looks better - not quite sure why. Probably because it is a little different :) The blue power LED ring just looks fantastic. Cooling wise the CPU in the P180 is slightly cooler with the same hardware inside. HDD temps ...

P180 - running cables behind mobo ?

Hello I have seen many posts on the forums showing peoples P180 rigs with the 4 pin PSU cable running BEHIND the motherboard. I have two questions. The first is a practical one - how do you get the cable to stay where it is whilst you install the motherboard - do you use electrical tape or something...

Seems strange - unless the OCZ 450w has *very* short cables, the position of the 24 pin / 4pin on the DFI Ultra is pretty standard. Have you tried installing the PSU the other way - i.e. so the cables coming out of the PSU are nearest the back of the case. Otherwise Maplin do a 4 pin extender but no...

P180 Reality Check and Advice Needed

My current rig is : SLK3000B with Acoustipack 3200+ Winnie MIS Neo4-F Club3D X800XL PCI-e 36gb Raptor and 200gb WD 7200 ....and I am pleased with it (the HDD's are placed on foam on the bottom of the case btw). No the rails screw on to the DRIVE not the case.

Screw one rail on each side of the CD/DVD drive using the screws provided. The aluminiun looking bit should face the front of the drive and the rounded edge of the rail should face the back of the drive (where the power plugs in)

Another thing mate - the metal springs on the rail go towards the front of the drive - the rounded edge of the rail goes towards the back end of the drive. So when you push the drive in on the rails the metal springs hold the drive in place.

Almost forgot that pretty crucial point !

Sorry if I have confused you further ! The rails DO go on the side of the drive - one each side. Just line the rail up against the BOTTOM edge of the drive and screw in the holes that line up - that way the drive will slide on the rails in the guides nicely. I spent many hours screwing and unscrewin...
