Though I cannot prove it was not incidental, I believe my original optical drive really shook more and made greater vibartional noise when it was installed next to the s12 430.... Though the optical drive was probably defective , the vibration was tremendous when it was next to the s12 430, but it ...

I have no idea for your 1st question. If I understand the 2nd, well there is a splitter that will just route the wires so you can run a fan off the connector at 5v instead of 12v. ( I forget whether that plugs into the HDD power wires or off the motherboard fan pins, I am not sure where my connector...

Yes, Wattage will be sufficient.
I reread you post and you have and agp version of 6600gt.
So you won't have a supplemental connector I think.
So then you won't run into that problem.
Your install should be easy.

It is as quiet as they say. If someone was able to get the old one out, then you will too. It really depends on the size of the case, if the case is too small then you have to remove the motherboard . One difficult connector to get off a motherboard, can be the PCIexpress supplemental connector down...

Why do I think this is much ado about nothing? OK, so the back of your CD drive and the top of your case are warm. Why does this matter? Has this caused any failure or misbehavior that you've experienced or even heard about? Though I cannot prove it was not incidental, I believe my original ...

jabba, I would think the family photos and work people back up to optical disk is worth a million times more than the computer. Of course you can test the disks you burn for errors, but I think it best not to push the luck. These drives are having their own ventalation systems these days. And I was ...

I tried to make the airflow into the case equal the airflow out of the case by adding a 90mm fan at the front intake and a 90mm fan in the side panel. Then there is the 120mm in the case rear, and the seasonic s12 430w 's 120mm. The load is light, so the ss 430w is slow mover. Every fans is manually...

Look the thing absolutly made my optical drive cook! The holes may also be there to provide for a design that perhaps needs air blowing over the big things with copper wire wrapped around them. There are 2 in front of the vent that faces the front of the case and 1 in front of the mini-vent that fac...

That Big Typhoon will put huge torque on the motherboard, it is >800g and look at the weight distribution. I think you overrate the torque. I think this Typhoon has a screw mount, rather than a pressure latch mount. I think that is a very good thing if that is the case. I think the damage from moun...

Oh, and I do not think it makes my s12 fan run particularily faster. Seems the same to me (meaning I notice no difference).
And there is another way of looking at it. That is that warm air is shot straight out the back, and does not recirculate (thus preventing the fan to spin up inside the PSU).

Yes, I noticed that the air coming out the vents that face the front of the computer, made my optical drive very hot! First off, I think you are doing about as well as you can with those parts. Your observations coincide with mine. The duct does mess with airflow to the GPU. Your motherboard temp number seems right (actually considering you do not have a fannned PSU, I think you are doing well with that number). If...

MSI 6600, Nvidia 77.77 vs 66.81 driver 5c-6c hotter at idle

I've got a MSI care based on a nvidia 6600 chip. I am using "Nvidia Monitor" to look at these GPU temps. I notice a difference of temps at idle (and I think there is maybe a similar difference at full graphics load but I do not know for sure as that is difficult to heat the system up in a row testin...

www.fan-x.de Shows temps of other components. Looks like if you run passive GC then SonicTower with fan at the position near the memory slot (not wedged in between the towers)is the way to go. Apparently at that position the towers create turbulence that bumps off and gets a passive GC that has fins...

I have a 3200+ on an A8N-SLI with a Ninja as well and it idles at 30C (in a 20C room) and goes up to 42C when running CPUBurn. i take back what I said above. I believe you have bubbles above the cpu die , in the center in addition to the perimeter. You see, if you have a bubble there to start (which you certainly introduced when you broke the seal), then those bubbles in the center will undoubtably get mixed in when you put...

By the way , a tiny bubble above the cpu die itself , is not the best thing, because then that tiny portion of the cpu gets hotter than the surrounding portions of the cpu. So one portion of the cpu may be getting much hotter than where the thermal diode is embedded in the cpu. But probably since yo...

Centaur: When you break the seal, you can get bubbles. But if you lifted it off, then reapplied a dab in the middle, without wiping down the surface first, then just put the heatsink back --- well that is an interesting question as to whether you would get a bubble. My inexperienced guess would be y...

When plugged into the CPU fan header, I don't think it even triggers the below a certain speed alarm in the bios, let alone give an actual slow RPM reading.

Is there anything I could tell by putting a multimeter to the 2 wires?
