LED:s are bad, mmm-kay? I find these unnecessary mouse LED:s to be visual noise , hence I simply can't stand them. So there should be some sort of off switch for the mouse LED:s. As you guys said the Lachesis' LED:s can be easily turned off via software. Excellent! But what about the other Razers? ...

Accidental Fanless CNPS-7000-AlCu

I built myself a pretty quiet system in April 2005 and was pretty happy with it. I managed to get away with no case fans, to make sure that the computer was silent to my ears. The only fans in the system were a super-undervolted (~3V) Zalman 7000-AlCu on and a Seasonic S12 380W. My CPU is an Athlon ...

I also have the X1. I was wondering what you think about the screen? I find my screen quite disappointing. The viewing angle is pretty bad, I have to look straight on to get any decent image quality. Also, the backlight is really uneven. The screen is not clear at all. I wonder if it's an isolated p...

PC Power and Cooling makes excellent power supplies in terms of stable voltages, and being able to push the power you need when you need it at all times.

However, it was not designed for quietness like Seasonics are. The PCP&C are clearly audible, while Seasonics are near silent.

My crappy statement wasn't really referring to it not starting at 5V, but to its louder than expected noise levels at 12V. I thought it would be comparable, if not quieter than the TriCool on low. According to the SLK3000B review, the noise levels of the two should be pretty similar. However, it was...

I tried sticking it on the 5V connector of my S12, but it only started up half of the time. It was definitely louder than the stock Antec TriCool on low setting. However, I still found th...

Well if any contact is made between the little legs and the drive itself, it should only be minor contact. The major contact is between the rubber and the drive itself, when screwed in. That's where most of the vibration should be travelling across.

The noise should be considerably less, and the airflow would not be significantly affected. It might even improve. From what I've seen, the 120mm Vantec Steal...

I was building my system yesterday, and spent over an hour trying to fit on the Tri-Cool on the back of my 3000B using E.A.R grommets.
