Re: Intel Next Unit of Computing Kit DC3217BY
The table on page 4 says 45W for CPU+GPU Load, whereas the graph on page 5 says 40W. Which one is correct?

I have a 2.5" NexStar 3 and really like it. For 3.5", I went with the Antec MX-1. It was well-reviewed on SPCR in March 2007. It's not silent, but it's very quiet and provides great cooling. Should be able to get it for under $50 USD now.

woodsman : Take a look at the Rosewill IDE Device to SATA Device Mini Vertical Bridge (for IDE device) Model RC204- Retail . Currently on sale for $12/ea (down from $20/ea) at Newegg. I haven't used them myself, but from what I've read these bad boys should let you connect your IDE drives to SATA p...

I haven't seen a Diamond View monitor, but AIUI almost every screen manufacturer has their own version of anti-reflective screen technology. (Acer: CrystalBrite; Asus: Color Shine/Crystal Shine; Dell: TrueLife; Fujitsu: CrystalView/SuperFine; Gateway: UltraBright; HP: BrightView; Sony: XBRITE; Toshi...

FWIW, if all you want is to add a 3.5" drive to the mini, just get an external SATA enclosure and route the SATA cable outside to it.

Everything I've read says this will be a seriously low-power rig. As I'm using on-board video for now, the main power draw is the CPU and with Merom that should be less than 35W. It seems like I don't need all the juice of the 300W that comes with the NSK3300.. could I get away with a PicoPSU or si...

pxa270, I'm also deciding between Intel and AMD for a budget micro-ATX system. Thanks for pointing out the ALiveNF4G-DVI board. I was previously looking at the Biostar TForce 6100 AM2 ( review ). Seems to overclock decently , but it doesn't have GbE or DVI. Leaning toward Conroe now, though. Really ...

I think there’s more to come with C2D at idle with a different motherboard. 975X based boards tend to be fully loaded with Crossfire support, an extra IDE chip for multiple PATA ports & extra SATA ports, Dual Ethernet, Firewire etc. Has anyone seen power consumption figures for Conroe on a micro-...

Hi duality: Speaking as someone who has been down this road, I'd strongly advise you to think carefully about whether you really want the trouble of running two separate computers. A couple of years ago, I decided to move my drives (4x120GB) into a separate file/web server. It seemed like a great id...

Greetings, I am running five Seagate drives suspended in a Lian Li PC6077 case. This case has been mentioned before in the forums. It has seven 5.25" drive bays. I leave the bay covers off, and I have two 80mm Panaflo 24 CFM/21 dB fans blowing out the back of the case. I've also got a 300W Seasonic ...
