I have 3x80mm nexus fans undervolted. They're quite quiet, more so than my stock adda fans. I compared them side by side both undervolted. I find that the 80mm case fans define the noise floor on my system. They're not very loud, but i think a 120mm undervolted would be quieter obviously. Unless you...

Not sure if you know this thread. I did a search, it lists the canadian retailers that carry silence stuff.

I got the same problem with my linksys router (really high end pitch). But i just got a new linksys wireless router (still some hissing, but mid pitch and only heard when putting ear against router. No idea what that is. But I remember when I first got the router, it didn't do that. The high pitch t...

xp-120 w/ nexus - better way of mounting?
I just finshed installing my xp-120 and nexus 120mm. Is there a better way of attaching the fan instead of using those clips provided? Though it's not coming off, it seems flimsy to me, as the wire clips are so thin and it's not "scrwed" securely to the fan. I thought about using zip-ties, but i'm t...

Or is this just the modder in me speaking up? Twisted Evil lol i like how you think. As far as the Sonata goes, I found a place that would only sell me the case and keep the PSU for themselvse, probably why I was a little tempted to change my case. But i definitely think my LL is sexier! I guess i'll just hold off on the fans and the antec phantom for now. I'm starting to wonder if this case can be saved. it's looking like it'll cost more to cool and silence this thing than getting an antec sonata and phantom. the only reason i haven't gotten rid of it is because i paid a lot for it...

Yea the thin metal piece is the stock fan grill. I'll get rid of that then. Thanks. I'm considering cutting out the grill for the back exhaust, but that might come later after i get the case fans in. I'll want to undervolt the case fans and was thinking of connecting them to resistor but now that yo...

lian li stock fan isolators keep or go?
i'm gonna buy 4 nexus fans to replace the 4 stock adda fans that came with my lian li case. i was wondering if i need to buy new fan mounts/isolators, or if i can use the current little black ones (hard plastic)? any diff? Also, there's a thin metal piece mounted to the side of the fan that faces th...

Just tried the 250G model, october 2004 build date, and it has a slight whine to it. According to the WD specs the 160 seems to be in some sort of sweet spot? The larger drives are slightly louder and the smaller drives are way louder? Surpised that the smaller drives are louder? I agree. It gets l...

What's kinda cool is the HD has a black top finish, while other HD's onyl have a normal silver metal top. Mine was produced Feb.1, 2005. I saw some other WD's at another store that had the standard silver top finish. I'm assuming those are the older stock and may not have the current decibal ratings...

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go with the Nexus fans. I already checked out the recommended list, the reason I was asking about the Papst was because the review was from 2002 and for the 12dbA model. I was looking at purchasing a 9dbA model and was curious for a more recent opinion. :o Oh I ch...

I just bought 2 Enermax Noisetaker 370W. One for me and one for my g/f computer that I'm also silencing. First Success w/ Noisetaker & Zalman
Hey guys, just successfully for the first time silenced my g/f computer with an Enermax Noisetaker 370W and a Zalman 7000B-AlCu. :D I have a question about the noisetaker, at the lowest setting, the fans spin at ~920RPM. Is that safe for temperatures (no underclocking applied)? There are no case fan...

Quietness! XP-120 w/ Panaflo vs Zalman 7000B
I've read some stats online: Panaflo (FBA12G12L1A): 120mm / 68.9CFM 1700RPM 30dB Zalman CNPS 7000B-AlCu: 120mm 1350-2600RPM 18-27.5dB So my question is: Is the Thermalright XP-120 w/ recommonded fan (above panaflo) quieter than the zalman 7000B? Based on what's posted on the forum, I always thought ...

Thermalright has a compatibillity list too. But that is an inclusive list, so that makes it a little more clear. The XP-120 fits your board. I had a look at the Asus site for you. I own a P4P800-VM, which is the smaller brother of your board. The lay-out arround the CPU socket of those boards is al...
