Bench Testing PS
Do ATX supplies require connection to a MB for operation? I know that there is an PS enable pin on the 24 pin MB connector but am unsure if this pin can float and allow the PS to power up.
I have a Seasonic S12-430. Why I ask, is that my Seasonic does not power up on the bench by itself.
Thanks

I believe the newer 775 processors use a different fan assy. They are 4 pin pwm controlled (via MB). The actual speed of the fan is controlled by CPU temp and power usage. I've heard that the stock Intel cpu fan is noisy, even though it uses a 4 pin pwm fan. The CPU is on the way so I have not heard the noise level. If the Panaflow is quite enough, I'll...

Appreciate recommendation on PS
I'm in the midst ot building a new PC and have a question on what version of PS I should purchase. I've narrowed the choices to the Seasonic SS 420(or 460), ST400, and S12 420. The MB is an Intel 915G w/ a 3.2 GHZ LGA775 CPU, PCI-E video card, etc. The case is a Cooler Master Cavalier 3 (mid-tower)....
