Re: Seagate Barracuda 3TB: 1TB Platter Behemoth

Hi again. Was a little busy. Here are the new spectrums made with the mic a few centimeters away from the front bezel's logo, with no contact. HDD on : spectrum 1.png HDD off : spectrum 2.png So there's quite a difference in the noise spectrum of my PC when the HDD is on, though I'm not completely s...

Re: Seagate Barracuda 3TB: 1TB Platter Behemoth

Thanks for the tips ; here are the spectrums with Audacity, same position for the microphone : HDD powered on : spectrum1.png HDD powered off : spectrum2.png The HDD adds essentially 4 peaks and some broadband noise ; those peaks are at approx. 2.38kHz, 3.46kHz, 4.27kHz and 4.53kHz. Re: Seagate Barracuda 3TB: 1TB Platter Behemoth

Hi ! I just bought this HDD in order to replace a Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB and a Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1TB, because they were quite high on the power on counts, with 42K and 30K hours respectively, and also because they created a beat frequency when powered on, and seemed to make my Windows 7 Pr...

Hi all ! I've noticed something ; the more recent the Tagan PSUs, the more noisier they are. And their efficiency is still around 70%, while the rest of the market has moved to 80-85%. If you want a really good PSU, you should choose the Seasonic S12 series, if possible the S12 500W and above, becau...

I have 2x512MB of DDR500 and an X800XT PE in AGP8x, so I don't want to get rid of them in order to get a Yonah platform...

Hi ! I just want to correct sthayahi ; when you use half the voltage, the consumption drops to 1/4 of the original, about 6.5W. It's because of the rule of Ohm, U=RI. If U is the half, R is constant, I must be the half too. And the formula for the power is P=UI, so, half of the original U multiplica...
