I haven't scratched my P180, and I haven't been overly careful. It's probably about as easily scratched as aluminium cases.

My manual doesn't mention the different thumbscrews, this is something Antec should have made more obvious, it's very counterintuitive to have two almost identical types of thumbscrews. They could just have a warning label attached to the thumbscrew.

I might have? but if I used the big thumbscrew and managed to slide on the panel shouldn't it come off the same way? It's actually easier to slide on the door than get it off, the shape of the clip is such that the clip will slide over the thumbscrew, and then the clip will get pushed in when...

Did you use a big thumbscrew on the lower drive cage? There is a special small thumbscrew for the lower drive cage, because if you use the big thumbscrews there, one of the clips will jam against the thumbscrew. If that's it, I don't know of a good solution apart from gently pulling the door off, yo...

The clicking is pretty bad, it sounds like about 25ish decibels. I bought the rev 1 and connected it to a molex connector to get 5 volts, that removes the clicking and I haven't had any problems yet.

Re: My first rig!

The 2x120 gb raid drives are soft-mounted with rubber mounts that came with the Kingwin case - I did not find a reason to suspend or silencing them further since they are quite quiet WD? Quiet? I don't believe you. I used to have two WD 120 GB HDDs in my computer (RAID0 actually), but I got...

That is right, the voltage is the same, but the amperage (and wattage) doubles.

You could try to connect the Rev 1 to a molex connector to get 5 volts before buying something new, that removes the ticking, and I've had no problems with the temps on my X800 pro.

Well, I thought I'd try to replace the whiny CPU fan with one of the 120mm antec fans at "low", I used some clear plastic and made a duct, I attached the fan to the duct with clear tape, then attached the duct and fan to the old heatsink with some steel wire and aluminium tape. http://images5.theima...

Okay, I've connected the fan to a molex connector, now it's at 5V. This review suggests the cooling is better by 15 C than the stock cooler at "32%", so it should be alright. A margin of 15 C from "32%" seems comfortable. Now that the clicking noise is gone, the noise levels from the case fan, the C...

ATI silencer 4 @ 5V

I bought the ATI silencer 4 without knowing about the clicking problem, now I've connected the fan to a molex connector and it's running fairly quiet at 5V, but will the temps be okay at load? I saw a review that had it running okay at "32%", but how many percent is 5V?

Yeah, they're copper. The upper one is 41 C and the one on top in the drive cage is 44 C right now. I don't know what their temps are bare, I've never run them bare.

Argh, I just read about the ATI silencers in in the VGA silencing forum. :( Arctic Cooling should have some disclaimer on the packaging. But the CPU fan and the three smartdrives don't look matched to me. The CPU fan is not the loudest component though, as far as I can tell, the sound from the CPU fan can't be heard from outside the case. Right now the loudest component is the ATI Silencer fan, so I suspect it might be faulty. The n...

Antec P180, three smartdrives and some cable management.

In an attempt to get better temperatures, sound levels, cable management and a nicer case, I have replaced my old chieftec case with a P180. I recieved my case today and the exact specs with the cage are W: 6.3" H: 4.25" D: 7.5". Without the cage the width is about 7.5" and the height about 4.4", unless you remove the cage mounts, which will give you about 6" of height.

From what I've been able to determine, it should be possible to fit two smartdrives in the lower compartment without removing anything. The height and width aren't a problem, but it might be a tight fit length-wise with the cables and the distance to the fan. A guesstimate on the dimensions (without...

Try to open up the case while the computer is running and feel the temperature of the air inside the case, if it is about the same temperature as the air getting blown out, you just have more than adequate airflow.

It will be very interesting to see if the case is as good as the specs suggest.

Maybe within a couple of weeks if it's supposed to be available in europe in one to one and a half months... :o
