The gamer in me forces me to ask, as always; does this keyboard suffer from phantom key lock-out or whatever it's called when you can't register holding more than 3+ local keys down? hey limee, you posted a question i would love to have answered (as i used to play an old game, Worms Armageddon , wh...

"Yes". Lots of people have. And "Yes" you will need to cut the case. i don't know anything about aopen's but shuttle psu's can usually handle x850's and everything else inside, so it would not surprise me if the xccube you have has enough grunt, but i guess try it @ your local PC shop or something. ...

You'd also need a DC-DC converter (like these ), but if your Shuttle motherboard has a standard ATX power plug, this is definitely possible. Be aware that it can cost up to $100, though. hey thanks! ... and yup, i can justify that cost for my quest for silence. :) After posting I did some searching...

external shuttle PSU to replace internal PSU?
Just had a thought about my noisy PSU. I have an SB83G5 shuttle and have been thinking about replacing the noisy PSU fans with with either two 40mm adda fans or papst fans. But then after reading the SD11G5 SPCR review i noticed that the SD11G5 machine has an external power brick and that is when th...

Hello vahagn, is there a specific reason you're aiming at 50°? Thats pretty low for such a GPU. Personally, I let mine top out at 70° and most of the time its 66°, I haven't had any problems. iirc the original 'fan profile' for this card aims at 60 or 65 and doesn't run the fan at full speed until ...

question about timings to lower heat output? w/ATItraytools.
I'm curious if i can lower heat-output by altering the "timings" settings of my ATI x800xl gfx card? I'm using ATI tray tools and have gone about setting up a balance between noise and performance. I've altered the overclock settings for the two profiles i'm using (one for desktop use, and one for g...

hey thanks for the advice guys. I've got an x800XL and changing the brightness via display settings has helped alot actually... It kinda felt like cheating but it does the job. :) fonzie: i just helped a friend choose an LCD last week and decided to suggest he gets the same monitor as you (Samsung 1...

LCD monitor & whine noise (related to brightness?)
long time lurker here... :) Anyway, I got myself an inexpensive and well priced monitor: the CMV CT-720D sometime around february 2005 (iirc) :) .... So about 3 months ago i started to notice that there was a high-pitch whine coming from the monitor. I began changing settings via the monitors UI, i ...

Interesting idea, letting it be passively cooled especially when using it for internet/general desktop use... I find that my MSI x800XL is the noisiest component i have in my pc and tried underclocking it too, with ATItool as well, and lowering the fan speed. Problem was/is that the settings seem to...

Just wanted to add that i have a LianLi TR-3 3.5" lcd thermometer & fan controller ... Problem is that it's an "auto" fan controller, which the reviews i read before getting it neglected to mention, grr. Anyway this thing isn't that great, it did make the 92mm evercool aluminium fan(s) i was using q...

okay, sweet! thx atomidude. I'm going to use one of these in my shuttle SB83G5 'cause i hate the noise level of the stock cooling fan on this rig. Will take a small amount of work to fit the 120mm fan in their tho' as the stock on is 92mm, but i've checked and there is *only just* enough space if i ...

Re: Next market
The next local comtrader market is not until the 26th June. I will see what I can do. I only bought one of these but I am very happy with it. It will quite happily start and run at 3V. yay, this thread answers my questions before i even posted them. :) But where in melbourne is the comtrader market...
