Project Passiv-Agressiv, Passive radiators, custom stuff
Ok, so I finished this case finally, and I was verrrry pleased to turn it on, and only see lights, and water flowing. No noise. the fans are 120s that turn at less than 700RPM, with a 160GB FDB maxtor in a solid aluminum enclosure, with passive radiators and a passively cooled PSU. Here is an overal...

If you used everything for its inteded purpose, theres no real creativity. :D Ok, So I took some more pictures to the best of my ability. Not the best conditions today, but goo...

Heh, thanks I appreciate that, I take alot of pride in designing my cases, not just cutting random shit out. Overall, it cost me about $650, $150 for the odds and ends parts for the water system $100 for the case $250 for powdercoating(Well worth it IMO) and then the rest($150) was just other parts,...

Ok, so. Here goes, it has taken a longggg longgg time to get everything together, much longer than i had planned, the powdercoater was late with parts, and there were several complications with certain parts of the system. I finally got the parts back though, and here are some pics over the last cou...

Ok, so long time to see, well Im not dead, and I certainly havent put this on hold, I have just been very busy juggling modding/school/life. So, I have a TON of updates and new pics, etc etc. Here goes. First, I finished the front bezel with all the craziness, about 2-3 months ago http://members.cox...

well first of all, that depends on the pump you use with the innovatek, if you get a very quiet pump such as an ehiem 1048 then that could end up being a better option, since the zalman pump, although very quiet, is mounted in the aluminum radiator, whereas with the innovatek setup you can have the ...

Passive PSU cooling with a huge heatsink
Ok, so heres the deal, Ive got my seasonic super tornado 400 ( I know its out of date :) ) But I am mounting the transistors to the heatsink, which will be mounted on the exterior of the case, now, the transistors as well as the heatsinks they are attached to, have a 66VAC charge, according to my mu...

"Silent" Pump
Hello, Im just wondering if anyone has reccomendations, or specific bad experiences, as to a very quiet pump? Im looking for 1/2" fittings as well. AC or DC, doesnt matter, although Ive heard DC pumps are quieter, but offer less performance. Better yet, does anyone have any information on using gas-...

Yeah, I enjoy digging up old parts/fans and playing around with them, some are noisy, some that I have come across could be classified as SPCR material, here is my tentative inventory of fans: (~15) 80mm, 3 or 4 ADDAs a "silentek" fan from an HP power supply. very quiet. A couple Nidec fans, not too...

I recieved 2 of these fans about a month ago, and they are LED versions of the nexus, not literally of course, but theyre really a dream, its about time a high quality LED fan came along. I LOVE these fans and there is no doubt they are of good quality, at 7v they exhibit no practical bearing noise ...

Ok, Update time finally! I have been busy and I didnt feel like taking pictures until now, so here goes, First off, I redid the waterblock, both the top and the base, due to problems with mounting solutions. so here is the base, I used a hexagonal fin-pin design, with a bunch of tiny hols drilled in...

Ok, I have something to add about those V-series Lian-Lis, they are FULL of holes! If you want a quiet case, that should be on the bottom of your list, the first step to stopping noise, is putting as much "stuff" between the source, and you. those V-series cases do nothing but leak noise. As an owne...

My only experience with HD blocks is with the Koolance one. The experience was bad, it killed my drive. Since then I've just payed a little attention to airflow in the case so there is sufficient cooling on the drives. They aren't hard to cool even with very quiet case setups if you make sure they ...

Hello again, another update. Today I messed around with some copper and aluminum and I must say it was a delight. :hip: So, I worked up a prototype of the VGA waterblock, which is ugly on the inside, but its JUST A PROTOTYPE not the real thing. So, I will use the top, but remake the base now that I ...

Well, after much thought and pondering, i have decided to add a heatercore in the intake, and as much of a passive project this started out as, it will still remain passive, but the heatercore, will just serve as a fail-safe for during the hot summer months. the case will have some airflow, so it is...

Hello again, I recieved the case today, and it is amazing, this is my second lian li, and I must say, they make great cases, I like the upside down motherboard idea of some newer cases, but i like the look of the old PC65s, so I think Im going to drill out the rivets and flip over the tray and backp...
