Thanks to Mike C and Devon for the review of MuteMat, just to clear up a couple of points people have been asking us about: 1. The kits we sent to SPCR did contain some extra pieces. We were not sure if they would test it on 1, or 2 machines and thought it was better to send them some extra just in ...

Hi Nici I have one question, will Mutemat Plus have any advantage over normal MuteMat in the P180, considering that the panels are pretty dead as standard? There are 2 main ways sound travels through a computer case. 1. It travels through the case structure (side pannels etc) 2. It travels through t...

Move
Sorry to any one who is experiencing any delay in the delivery of a MuteMat or MuteMat Plus kit. We have just moved to a new factory and as a result we have been unable to make any new kits until the machines have been re-installed. This is now complete, so production is now back on. We have also ha...

Thanks for all the feedback
Thanks to every one for all the feedback we have noted what was said regarding the adhesive on the MuteMat Universal kit: The backing is very hard to peel off, as in it hard not to damage the fibre layer. Picture double sided tape on cotton and trying to peel the backing off We have improved the adh...

Thanks for the question, sorry for the delay in replying: How Thick Are the Kits? The standard MuteMat material is 19mm thick and the kit weighs about 0.3Kg. For the Plus kit we add a 1.5mm High Density barrier layer which is designed to help stop the case from vibrating and also act as an acoustic ...

Were currently only based in the UK, but if you drop me an Email info@mutemat.co.uk I can look up the shipping costs to Australia for you. They will not be much for mutemat, as it is a very fine and light to optimise the sound absorption, but the Plus version has the acoustic barrier layer and is qu...

Weight question
Mutemat universal is very light due to the microfibres. 0.3kg. Mutemat plus uses a heavy second layer so the kit weighs approximately 2kg.

High or Low Density for Sound Reduction???
A high density, high mass product reduces levels of structural vibration in a computer system by increasing the mass/stiffness characteristics of the case, and works because a stiffer heavier case will not transmit as much vibration. It may also prevent some sound from passing through it by acting a...

MuteMat Plus
With regard to MuteMat Plus, we are currently in the process of evaluating the performance of several different high density layers to determine which is 'the best one for the job'. Once the material has been chosen we will then be able to determine the price, and also a time when it will be availab...
