The only problem I have is that the sound doesnt work!! It isnt a big problem to me as I built the system to learn linux for a job rather than use it for a jukebox, but as a learning exercise I am trying to get the sound working but so far with no success. Has anyone had any problems or experience ...

There are compatibility lists of the big distributions, I haven't found an up-to date debian list. I didn't have a look at these lists, because I don't need them yet...

I would have a look at the Suse hardware-compatibility list. Debian also has a compatibility list. What about to search the forum of the big distributions for your dream-components? My personal experience (although I still have a Athlon XP system): Nvidia Linux drivers work better; no fancy parts (S...

Hi Burebista Thanks for the link! The Fortron BLUESTORM II ATX2.2 350 Watt costs €52, but I can't get it in Switzerland. The be-quiet straight power 350W with active PFC ATX 2.2 is about €60 including delivery. The Asus is available in my local shop at €42 in Switzerland, that's why I would go...

Asus A-45GA 450W or Thermaltake TR2 Power 420W?

The Asus A-45GA is supposed to be noisy according to http://prix.matbe.com/prix/commentaires/lire/49128/ but very quiet according to http://tweakers.net/productsurvey/121381 as far as I understand dutch (it's more double-dutch to me). The Thermaltake TR2 Power 420W seems to be pretty quiet according...

German Seasonic Prices (for comparison)

Unfortunately in German I have found a list of Seasonic power supplies with their prices http://www.geizhals.at/eu/?fs=seasonic&x=0&y=0&in=. "Händlerbewertung" means shop-quality feedback, where "1" is the best. I can't tell you which one delivers EU wide (sh EDV-Vertrieb does so).

The prices for the 301 HT of sh EDV are quite interesting, more than one year ago I had to pay about EUR 38 at condat.com (their shop is down, so I can't tell the price over there). http://www.geizhals.at/eu/a163902.html . In case anybody has some problem with German I could try to translate. The pr...

I posted my impression of the Rev.A1 OEM version of this PSU a year ago. It has the same (small) heatsinks as the reviewed model. Thanks for the information. We will see whether or not the heatsink of the retail version is the same. Edit The heatsinks of the a3 and a3 are the same, so I wonder why ...

Hi some more details regarding the cables of the bulk HT301, but for sure I will not cut the cables in case I need them later on. Adhesive tape helps to tidy up these cables in order to provide a good ventilation within the PC. - PCI Express und BTX ready - 24 pin ATX plug - 2 x S-ATA Anschluss - 1 ...

Re: SS-301HT: a pictorial

could you comment on the relative quietness of this PSU and a Nexus NX-3500? Hi I have been using the HT301 for three weeks now and compared to my former Coba 400W 12cm fan power supply I can say it's very quiet and stable. When my ear is just beside the ps, I hardly can hear the fan. There is no n...
