Oh OK, well that saves me a bit of work then.
Thanks!

Preparing For Dual Core
I'm about to go dual core and was wondering if I need to install this Microsoft hotfix prior to shutting down my computer and installing a dual core Opteron 170. Is it even the right hotfix? http://support.microsoft.com/?id=896256 Can I install the hotfix after putting in the new CPU or will XP not ...

I have a Scythe Ninja installed and running passive in my A8N32 right now. Clearance and weight are not issues for me. Regarding the fan, the Ninja with a 120mm fan works fine for me when the fan faces towards the rear. One thing you might want to note is that you cannot use the little blower fan in...

MOSFET Cooling Necessary?
I was tinkering around with my A8N32 and noticed that the silver heatsink that covers the MOSFETS has absolutely no thermal compound to aid in heat transfer. Why would they skimp on applying thermal compound to units attached to a heatsink? Is this OK for the MOSFETS or should I go apply some AS5 wh...

CPU Temps Raise After Switching to nForce Mobo?
OK I previously had a setup which consisted of AMD 64 3000+ Socket 939 Winchester @1.8GHz Scythe Ninja passive A8V Deluxe 9600 Pro etc... Now, with CrystalCPUID working, here were my idle and load CPU temperatures along with their respective voltages. Idle: 82F @ 1.000V Load: 90F @ 1.150V I've recen...

Have you tried covering up the cable opening of the V1100 dividing floor with some type of foam? I cut up the foam that enclosed my S12 so that it would cover up any space not being used by the opening in the divider while still allowing cables through. Temperatures dropped 2-3C due to heat from the...

Format Needed When Installing New Motherboard?
Quick question, I am currently using an A8V Deluxe and am going to install an A8N SLI Premium, do I need to format the windows drive?
If I don't perform a clean install of winXP upon new motherboard installation will it be safe, if not, what problems can I expect?

I did this a week or so ago. Just pull the wires from the 4-pin molex ends using forceps, or whatever tool you have, splice the ground wires together and wrapped with electrical tape.
I'll probably do the same for the other two Nexus 120s whenever I do a complete case cleaning during a school break.

Not really, the most I've put it through is a few hours of heavy gaming. When I had my old 300W Fortron PSU powering everything, I could not go below 1.200V under load without the computer randomly rebooting during a game. However, after installing an S12 500 I decided to drop the voltage a little b...

Hmmm, I see...so the Abit does automatically adjust fan speeds, but does it ramp up the speeds slowly, or does it switch from a high and low speed setting? I guess what I'm trying to say is, does the Abit board switch from low and high voltages, or does it slowly ramp up voltages to the fan accordin...

Questions About A8N-SLI Premium and AN8 Ultra
I'm currently using an Asus A8V Deluxe and having Speedfan do all of the fan controlling for me automatically. Since I plan on going PCI Express by the holidays, I decided to look into buying either the Asus A8N-SLI Premium, or the Abit AN8 Ultra. After a little bit of digging around I have the foll...
