Maybe I indeed have a bad D5 sample, it is a early model.

DDC was quite, seemed louder then MAG.

Of course my DDC's got REAL quite one day :)

D5 is very quite at 1 or 2 setting, just don't see the point in getting this pump if you must turn it down?

I just listened too the Mp3's he has posted.

I have several of the pumps he tested, and the CSP-MAG he is testing has something wrong or it is not bleed.

All the pumps sound about right but my MAG makes 1/2 the noise of my D5.You have to place it against your ear to hear anything at all.

"Eheim HPPS with Innovatek base on cotton and it's number 1 source noise in my system" That doesn't seem right Every Eheim I have has been very quite. Think maybe you have a problem with your pump. Clean it out and see what happens. MAG is very quite, D5 is ok at lower settings 1-2. I could be wrong...

I have had every pump indicated in this thread; here are my findings. 1.Ehiem - GREAT! 2.CSP-MAG - GREAT! have two now- same or better performance as Ehiem, about same noise level as Ehiem 3. DDC - JUNK! Had two fail and they are not as quite as Mag and Ehiem 4. D5 - LOUD! It is also very big, other...

$400!!! Thats crazy! Do not get me wrong; it sounds good on paper and from what I read on there WEB site, just $400 is a crazy price. Think this has a modifided CSP-MAG pump, which is a really good unit from long time experience I have with them. But this does not mean the whole system is great. It ...

From what I read on the other forum the MAG pump can be damaged in shipping.

Not sure if DD guys have a whole box damaged or what, but both of my pumps are OK.

I see on same forum Talonz pump is working quite now as well.

:D

Opened my up today as I am adding a GPU card and the impeller is NOT loose.

Nor is my second MAG pump (from Danger Den this time)

I can guess your pump and maybe Scop's are damaged :(

You mean the D5?
D5 is bigger, more flow and higher head.

It is also noisy and will not effect your temps in any measured way.

Don't waste your money

"Pro cooling is not big into GPU"

Well that is just stupid.... sorry but it is.

CPU and GPU are the same thing, in fact with most games nowadays your GPU is worked harder then your CPU.

From what I read on other forums, GPU is easy too overclock and performs very well with WCing.

"All of them perform best with high-pressure"

According to the developer of the G5 on proforums, the difference between the best and worse pump using a G5 will only be 1C!

You will be within 0.5C in a MAG vs D5 set up.

For that little difference I will do without the noise :D

Sounds like something is hitting the impeller.

Had my MAG 6+ months now, very quite.

I also read Dave on Proforums trying to get his hands on one, but I suspect yours is a different noise then others suggest.

Did you open it up and look if anything is in there?

DG, I do not believe you are "getting it", a pump like the C-MAG is MORE then you will ever need.

Big pumps are a waste of money and power.

NO!!!!

My friend has one, and yes it can be low noise, if you turn it WAY down.
But whats the point then?

Buy a big pump, then turn it down so you have equal or less flow then a 1048 or mag?

I understand reading on Pro Forum, c-systems has an even quiter pump coming out, if that is possible.

There is a thread by one of the engineers about a 100000 hour pump.

Danger Den MAG will work very well, and you can have your MOBO monitor it :)

Not sure if your going to use Ehiem 1048 or 1250? If 1048, CSP-MAG pump will work better, smaller, very quite and your MOBO can monitor it for any troubles. Replaced my 1048 for DDC, was cheap crap! Replaced DDC with Mag, so quite it scared me. Using Danger Den TDX block, going for second Mag and GP...

Thats a cool link!
So basically anything above 1.2 GPH is a waste?

A small decent pump is the way to go.

I never had a C-MarkII, I have a MAG, and an AC Ehiem pump (other system). I had a DDC, often stopped and I sent it back.

Overvolt? Well I guess but not on purpose. My mobo functions reads 12.83V, I do not have a volt meter to test for sure. Performance wise I only have a DDC to compare against, both would be running at same voltage, and the MAG gives me better results. I am using a DD TDX style block. I have mine moun...

Hello all, wow another great forum ! Now that I have this water cooling stuff down I am working on lowering my system noise, so thanks for all the good reading.
