Yes, it works!
Using the Akasa splitter I've managed to hook up 5 case fans to the CPU header. I use a simple 2-way splitter as well as an Arctic Cooling PWM fan to get everything hooked up. I think the power you get from one molex is plenty to power a whole bunch of fans...just daisy chain away!:) Unless anyone c...

I'm happy to report that Easytune has done the trick - 3 Scythe Slipstreams LM-Ps now idling at 550rpm. Not silent, but only the slight whoosh of air, given that I've a few other fans in the case. The splitter has worked out really nicely. I even have an 80mm Arctic Cooling PWM fan thrown into the m...

PWM fans aren't slowing down
Just built up my new system based on P55A-UD3R motherboard. I've always been a pro-silence kind of guy and my old pc had fan controls on it. Now I wanted to do away with the fan control and just go with the new-fangled PWM stylee. At first i had just the stock intel fan on the i5-760 and I saw in Sp...

Get them both and use the Sapphire as a door stop, that's my advice. No, seriously though, I imagine the cards are identical. If they have different coolers then go for the quieter one. Otherwise, choose the one you think has a better software package. Actually, I regard Asus to be a slightly more '...

Could you tell me please how you managed to get rid of the cage from under the power supply? I saw your pics and thought it was a good idea as I dont have my hard disk in it and it only gets in the way of airflow to the 92mm fan I have there. Then when I opened up the case to unscrew it I noticed th...

I can't return it because I, erm, cut one of the molex power cables to make the inside of my case look pretty. Now I don't even use that one at all, how ridiculous. I imagine airflow will be ok, for a couple of reasons. First, the intake fan will be 25mm wide as opposed to 15mm. Second, I have modde...

Would you mind posting a link? I'll check the wattage allowance (or is that voltage, or amps?) on the fan controller, I think it'll be fine to attach a couple more slower 80 mils. Will the fact that the fans operate at 1500rpm max be an issue since at 100% load the power supply 'requires' 1800rpm fa...

Thanks for the idea, I think I will mount them on the outside. But is that likely to reduce the air pressure etc etc? Also, do you happen to remember what fan connections are inside the psu? I've got a few too many hooked up to my zalman fan controller, dont really want to add more. Or maybe? Does a...

Fan Swap in Tagan
Hi, My power supply is getting louder, or maybe its down to the rest of my system getting quieter. Either way, it's making a high pitched scratching sort of noise. I'm guess is caused by the fans and I would like to eliminate it (because my system will be getting quieter still, soon). Firstly, would...

Removing the plastic surround and. . . .
. . . . making it so that the 'front of the centre' doesn't rotate. Hey all who can help! I'm getting sick of the various noises coming from the fan on my Zalman 9500 . I have BTX (?) styled case - Silverstone TJ06 - so the heatsink is close to the bottom of the case. It's perfect for setting up a f...

First of all seal that vent with ducting tape, i think this should solve the problem. Hmmm, I'm really not prepared to do that. It's obviously there for a reason. Tagan really did their homework before they started making power supplies. I've pretty much made up my mind to go with the case mod. Now...

Whiney VF700-CU LED
Why is it that, more often than not, components have such inconsistent characteristics? I'm not just talking about the discrepancies between what that company and the bought-out reviewers claim, but between the individual items themselves. I had an VF700-CU. It was very good. I guess it was as good ...

I'm using the Zalman VF700-CU. Did I forget to say? I'm very pleased with it in general, especially with the lack of noise at 5v. I just bought the CNPS9500 for the CPU, which is also excellent. However, I've got this silly urge to purchase the new LED-ed version of the VF700 to complement the style...

Bubblewrap, and some other question.
I have a Hitachi T7K250 housed in a SilentDrive box. Thought I had eliminated all its noise, until I improved the silence of my other components. All that is left is some vibration. I'm going to de-couple the box from my case and simply rest it on my DVD drive. Which cheap material should I use betw...

I'll hazard a guess - no way! If they really did have a great, nexus-beating product on their hands, they'd make an effort to publicise the breakthrough a lot more honestly. In my eyes, they have deliberately marketed the fan in a way that ensures the many noobs out there will be tempted to buy one....

How to apply AS5 on GPU core?
I have an x850xt pe. I know they generate a lot of heat, but I still feel 67C under load is too high with the new cooler attached (compared to what others have reported). I get this temp while running the 3D rotating cube in AtiTool, which apparently stresses the card more than any game can. Its not...

I have neon lights connected to the two extra switches, which I think they are better suited to. I found they did strange things with most of my fans, as in they didn't operate when switched to 5v. VF700 fan wattage?
Would anyone happen to know the required maximum wattage for the fan on the VF700 cooler? I've purchased the Zalman ZM-MFC1 fan controller and need to attach two fans to a couple of the terminals - each allowing a total of 7 Watts. I'll be getting the CNPS9500 which has a rating of 4.2 Watts. I'm ho...

Hmmm, somehow I doubt that 2x 120mm and 1x 80mm fans facing inwards, with one relatively low speed psu exhaust, could be beneficial. However, when the time comes, I might give it a go. In fact, I wouldn't know how to arrange the heatsink fan(s) if I did that. Are you aware of how this case is design...
