I tried looking at yhe LEDs. They should be connected properly. But I do not hear a beep of any kind. Another thing I noticed was that although the power ON LED works, the soft off (power off) function on the same LED doesn't work. Does it make any difference which way the LEDs are connected? At the...

Urgent help needed. New system won't work :(

Have finally assembled all the different components in my system and tried to put it all together. In vain it seems. It only shows a black screen. This is my system: Motherboard: A8N-E CPU: AMD Athlon 64 xp3200+ Heatsink: XP-120 GPU: Point-of-View GeForce 6600GT 128 Mb TV/DVI-out, PCI-Express Harddr...

The SilenX 120mm Ixtrema Quiet 11dbA

I was looking around for a quiet, but effective 120mm fan when I discovered the "SilenX 120mm Ixtrema Quiet 11dbA". Does anyone on this forum have any experience with this fan?

Although I'd really like a x800xl 256Mb, it would cost me 480$ as opposed to the 6600GT 128Mb card I'll get for 178$. The difference in cost between the 3200+ and the 3000+ is not 300$ so I'd rather spend some extra on a decent fan controller or something. Sigh. Wish I did have the money to buy ever...

Well. Been down to the retail shop I've been using (got a friend there giving me some very nice prices). Gone over the lot and the system now looks like this: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Socket 939, 512KB Memory: Corsair Value S PC3200 DDR-DIMM 1024MB Kit w/two matched Value Select 512MB GPU: Po...

The case I ordered is: (quote) ANTEC SLK3000B EU WITH AIR GUIDE WITHOUT POWER SUPPLY IN (761345-00300-1) (unquote. Taken from the webshop). Hopefully that means that I don't have to deal with the problems in the SLK3000AMD that you kindly mentioned. Appreciate the feedback. How many Papst 120mm fans...

Excuse me for double posting. I actually did find a webshop that had the Antec SLK3000 in storage in Norway. So I have already ordered it as it seems that everyone thinks it to be one of the best cases all-around. But how do you see whether or not a GPU is passively cooled? Can anyone help me there?...

My first choice was actualy the Antec SLK3000, but it is not available for purchase in Norway. And shipping 18 kg from the US may cost more than it is worth. I'll check out whether or not the card is a GT or not. I'll probably go for the one that is best for gaming. As I remember, I think there is s...

My planned system

Anyone who bothers to take a look at these specs and comment upon my choices? My goal is to have a gaming computer with max 20 db noise. The case I've chosen, Mercury Miditower, is not one I've seen reviewed here, but it do seem to have the right stuff. Both side doors, front, back and the top are p...
