Solid State Drives. (I recommend Samsung)

Dead silent, much faster, and more reliable.

Once you go with liquid you'll never go back.

I have to laugh when people try to talk air up like it can even come close. It can't.

Fan in Reserator XT?

The fan in the Reserator XT seems awfully loud. Does anyone else have this problem?

I may need to switch to something quieter.

Can anyone comment on the noise level of the 1500?

Are there any ULV processors that use the Core 2 Duo form factor so the fan can be removed?

Physical Size of Samsung SSDs

According to Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=samsung+solid+state&x=0&y=0 The 16gb is physically bigger than the 32gb. Could that possibly be correct? Seems to me the sizing specifications are backwards. Does anyone have either of these drives? I w...

Is that a new-model Reserator? How is it working for you? Nope, the old version. It works just fine for me, but I'm not much of a gamer. Just the occasional EQ2 session. Nice build, but if there are no fans whatsoever, how much good will the RAM heatsinks do on the video card? That is one of the weakpoints. The video card starts to choke after about 20 minutes of gaming, so I need to upgrade those sinks. Zalman actually makes a waterblock for the VRAM, but unfortun...

Almost finished! Just need to swap out the Raptor for a solid state hard-drive and this baby will be dead quiet (at least for me). http://yamrs.com/misc/tower.jpg http://yamrs.com/misc/ss_powersupply.jpg http://yamrs.com/misc/raptor.jpg http://yamrs.com/misc/cpu.jpg http://yamrs.com/misc/vpu2.jpg

Agreed that the price is an immediate turn-off (at least for the vast majority of us). Even if the shell was free it would cost a pretty penny to fully populate it with the 2GB sticks.

Anyway, maybe SPCR has enough clout to pull one in for testing...

HyperOS's Hyperdrive IV - Superior(?) to I-RAM, but...

still a bit spendy ($1k for the 16GB shell).

Maybe somebody from SPCR can get a unit for testing?

That's freakin' awesome! Ram compatibility was my main (well, my only) concern.

Going to order one now.

Remote Mount Radiator Question...

Going to mount the radiator outside of the house, but am concerned the little pump (BigWater) doesn't flow well enough to handle an extra 10+ feet of tubing. Have an old Carter automotive fuel pump that I'm not using...should I add it in to the mix?

Anyone care to comment?

Compared to the brutally loud OEM proprietary dual-fan setup, the bigwater is fantastic. Now if I can find a way to quiet the HD with the limited space...I'm golden. :P
