Hah funny. I actually have one of those that I bought when I was building my PC. I can't remember the reason why I didn't use it. Could have been that I wasn't happy with the temps. I guess no harm in trying it out again I checked real quick - I think currently I'm using a SFlex SFF21E on my heatsink

Help me please shut my PC up - any new silent but great
cooling fans? I have not looked into this since Dec 2007 when I built my current PC. I think I have a nexus now. Some orange fan. Anyway, at the time it was highly rated but it always made some faint sound that I didn't care for. Now I'm just annoyed. So is there anything I can use that is barely au...

mcoleg - I only have one fan being controlled by the Lian Li case fan controller. And yeah, I have a Q6600 with a Thermalright Ultima 90 + a S-Flex 1200rpm fan for cooling Felger, I know if I want optimal cooling that I have to sacrifice noise levels but I guess what I'm after is something in the mi...

I apologize for the late reply as I had forgotten about this post. Anyway, my temps aren't too much of a concern now but they may be during the summer. Here are my idle temps... CPU 28 Core 1 42 Core 2 43 Core 3 37 Core 4 36 The temps fluctuate quite a lot but that's what I have now. Temps are a lit...

High CFM + Quiet - Unrealistic?
I switched out a Noctua I was using on my heatsink and a couple of Lian Li Fans with Scythe SFF21E 120mm Fans - I see very little difference. In fact, I think my temps may be 1C higher. Anyway, I've already feel like I've wasted money on 3 fans (Noctua + two Scythe) but I'm willing to try again. Wha...

Thinking about switching out the Noctua I have on my Thermalright Ultima 90 with one of the Scythe's. What I'm most afraid is that...
1. I won't see any temp differences
2. It will be louder
Any comments?

I don't think it's really that loud - I got mine from Jabtech as well. Do we even have other options for thinner fans? I saw that scythe heatsink with the 12mm fan but that isn't sold separately. I personally have no choice but to use the Yate Loon for now given the fact that I have clearance issues...

Thanks! I actually found out about those today. Thank goodness Jab-tech had them in stock. Turns out, it's the thermalright that's the problem. It's actually the heatsink on my Asus Maximus. The Lian Li just gives so little room between the top fan and the top of the board. I'm hoping the extra 5mm ...

The next big to a Thermalright Ultra 120 but smaller?
I'm waiting for all parts to arrive this week but it would appear I made a mistake going with this heatsink and the Lian Li PC-A10B. I will have clearance issues with the top case fan. I'm going to have to go with something else but not exactly sure what is the next best thing but with a smaller foo...

Besides the Zalman, are there any slim fans available?
I may need to switch out a fan in my Lian Li depending on how the Thermalright 120 fits in the case. From what I understand, I made a mistake with going with this heatsink and case combo. Anyway, it looks like the issue will be the top fan. Not sure what kind of clearance I will have but looking int...

heatsink scratched but not around the area where the die...
would be. Should I worry? Someone was helping with a screw that wasn't budging and ended up scratching the lower part of the heatsink. This is to the side, though, but a pretty big scratch. If it's not around the area where the die would be (old school amds so no cover), will it matter? Can it affec...

Know of a online site selling HVAC tape at a good price?
I tried a couple of hardware stores in Manhattan and all of them had at something like $18 per roll. I don't need that much.

What was the reason for ignoring hd cooling in the p180...
It just seems like a weird choice and I'm now thinking of moving the drives up to the upper chamber. Everything else gets some attention (even the psu which already has it's own fans) but hard drives are completely ignored. I'm not to fond of having my archive drive at temps hovering around 40C.

Would installing a front case fan in a p180 help cooling?
Right now the only cooling going around the vid card is from the vga fan itself. I really would like to avoid using the vga duct. If I installed a fan in front of the case, would it improve temps around that area?

I got a similar setup and get the same temps when my room has a ambient temp around 32C. The only difference is that I have everything in a antec p180. In my old case, the area around the psu built up and would easily add 10C+. Considering the amd 3700 is supposed to run cooler than my old amd 2700,...

the cables on the seasonic may reach the power connectors on the premium board but there is 0 slack on both the main and atx power cables. i definitely wouldn't want to keep them that way. i would not recommend using a seasonic psu with a asus a8n board and the p180 unless you're going to use an ext...

I usually use the 3-pin to Molex adapter. I just cut the Molex connectors off, strip a little insulation and shove it firmly into the PSU's Molex connectors. This is great for testing, but shouldn't be permanent. Actually, it is permanent in my PC. Now if you have any sort of mechanical ability anf...

does it just have to do with which connector is used (3 or 4 pin)?

funny...i wonder why jab-tech doesn't have that as an addon for the heatsink like it has with the fan. the support guy didn't even mention that these were available on their site but suggested doing the mod that Tibors describes in his stickyRobisoda wrote:Top flange clips here.
