This is meant to compete with Western Digital GP. Low noise/power = 5400RPM. Yes, I've understood that but I wanna hear something about the 7200rpm models. A 7200 model with 500 GB per platter would give us another boost in performance. It's a +50% density so I hope I'll see at least +25% STR (so >...

Well I have received a new drive and the comportment is the same. I've observed that I can't write on the HDD. I have tried hdtach test with read and write and when the write test started, the application stopped responding and after 1-2 minutes the HDD disappeared. I then tried SeaTools for Dos and...

I have one, but it has problems, I have to send it back to RMA. I've plugged the HDD on my system and I have used Hd Tune to test the performance to be able to see the write speed since I didn't had any partition. The read test worked but at the write test didn't start. The HDD disappeared, I have r...

I hope the competition will grow up in this domain (SSD, NAND on PCI-e) and we will get reasonable prices. 30$ * 640 = 19200$, too high, even if the performance seems to be very good. 30$/GB is ~100x price/GB of an 7200 drive. I would be interested in something that is max 10x the price/GB of a regu...

I will be calling them next Friday to follow up and see when they are coming out, as my company is interested in getting them in for review. If we do get some in early, I will be sure to follow up with some numbers. I'm waiting for some RAID numbers(access time and bandwidth) as soon as it's possib...

Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but 300MBps/150MBps (for SATA II and SATA I, respectively) [is] the bandwidth of the entire controller, and not per device. Frosted, I for one, believe you are correct. This is the reason why I don't understand people wanting to RAID-0 this thing: it's already...
