I got it all installed today with some AS5. In my unventilated closet, it's running 34C idle and 40C load. Under my desk it was running 28C idle and 38C load. No overvolt, just a small overclock to 2150mhz so far. I set my BIOS to always run the fan at 1671RPM because I can't hear it either way and ...

I got this drive from Newegg (after hearing reports of broken drives from Monarch). There is no audible high pitch sound from any angle, and I've got better ears than anyone I know. There's a lot of whooshing white noise, but it's very tolerable and within my limits. It is mounted flat/horizontally ...

I don't know how you could possibly need 7 to 8 molex connectors. All of your fans have pass-through molex, right?

I also got the new S12-500W from pcalchemy and it has the 7-blade fan and the better capacitors. I haven't tested it yet because the rest of my computer parts aren't here.

I ordered one from Newegg that I will receive Wednesday, so I'll check if it has a whiny noise and be able to tell if Monarch is just banging up their drives for fun.

A lot of people view computers as an unchangable black box and aren't aware that they can make it quieter. The rest doesn't use their computers nearly enough to demand it to be quiet enough.

I have a Dell Dimension 4600. It's loud as hell even with just 3 fans and a Samsung Spinpoint hard drive. I had to wire it into the closet to get it to an acceptable noise level.

XP-90 + Nexus 92mm enough to cool a 3200+ Venice OCed?

Can an XP-90 with the 92mm Nexus fan (from Jab-Tech) properly cool a slightly overvolted and overclocked 3200+ Venice? I need it to run for a while, but don't care if the CPU dies after 2-3 years. Maybe I should get a Panaflo L1BX, but there's too many reports of clicking sounds from it. I can't rea...
