mdearth,

Have you tried having the fan "push" air inside the case? I have mine setup that way, and I get at least -3C by doing that.

Doesn't installing fans to a watercooling system defeat the purpose of silent watercooling? Also, the Bigwater kit doesn't seem silent judging by its design and the fact that its made by thermaltake. why don't you hook up all the hot stuff to cheap $15 waterblocks and just get a real radiator, a 12...

Not sure what the sound may be, but what I've heard around the block is that when a PSU is at its last legs, it starts making noises. I think you may have gotten a defective unit. About the temps going down... let us know if you find out the reasoning. I'd be very interested to know if related to th...

Sanatarium,

This project of yours is not a case mod. It's case ART!

I know a case like this would be priceless, but would you mind telling us what kinda $$$ you spent to make it?

It's hardmounted with a screw through the side vent holes.

It sounds like vibration transfer through the case is not your issue here.

Hold the pump on your hand and if it's noisy that way, then it'll be noisy no matter how you mount it.

I basically want to make my computer as inaudible as possible while using water cooling. Is the card OC'ed?

If you run RivaTuner, it has a window where it displays a graphic with temperatures over time.

Also everytime the games skip, do you notice the hard drive light blink at the same time?

Some specs on your machine may help us try to figure out the problem.

Nexus cherry-picks the highest quality Yate Loon fans, so the quality of fans directly from Yate Loon ca be more iffy. Also, Nexus installs an in-line resistor to bring the rpm level ~ 1000, which is slower than the Yate Loon normal speed of ~1350. Maybe try them again at 5v, and see if the noise i...

Got my Yates Loon fans, installed them, and got rid of them right after. They were noisier than the stock Antec fans, even at 7V. Very disapointed.

Now I have all original fans installed back, and connected to a rheobus. And that's the quietest it's ever been.

My X800XL ran no hotter than 60C after I installed the Arctic Silencer, about the same temps now with WC.
