Need advice: HR-01 Plus or Ultra-120X? Nexus at 12v or 7v?
I currently have a Thermalright XP-90 heatsink on my CPU with a Nexus 92mm fan running at full 12 volts. I'm looking to upgrade to either a Thermalright HR-01 Plus or Ultra-120 eXtreme but am not sure which one. I will be using a Nexus 120mm fan at 12 volts or perhaps 7 volts. Assuming cost is the s...

Thanks, MikeC. After some googling, the specs of the original fan seem to be: 2200 RPM, 87 CFM and 39 dBA. The fan I'm now considering is the Scythe S-FLEX 120mm SFF21F... 1600rpm, 63.7CFM, 28.0dBA. Will this be a suitable replacement? Any other recommendations for a 120x25mm fan? I've also come acr...

Nexus 120 fan in an Antec PSU.. Will it be powerful enough?
I have an Antec TruePower 2.0 430w ( SPCR review ). It has one temperature-controlled 120mm fan and while it's reasonably quiet, it is currently the loudest component in my PC. I'm thinking of replacing it with an orange Nexus 120mm fan.. but my concern is that the cooling performance won't be up to...

question about the 3000B and m/b standoffs with a P4
just quickly.. I noticed on the 3000B case it says to place 4 of the brass standoffs in a little square roughly where the CPU goes.. but my motherboard doesn't have any holes for them. Do they serve a purpose? If not, is leaving them there a bad idea? thanks.

oh ok.. Well I guess I'm just choosing between the Antec True Power 2.0 380W and Enermax 420W Noisetaker. I took out the Zalman because it didn't get a great rating on the SPCR recommendations list, and I'm not too keen on modding it. The case its going in will be a SLK3000B.. I can only guess that ...

Yeah, unfortunately we don't get Seasonics here in Aus. I haven't decided what exactly is going in it but my system will probably be fairly low power. At the moment, I'm thinking 3500+ or 3ghz dual core, single HDD and 6600GT. Not too worried about having enough watts. I was planning to have maybe j...

Which of these PSUs will be the quietest...
I'm planning to put together a quiet PC, and am having a lot of difficulty deciding on a power supply. These are the 4 I'm choosing between, and would like to know which is likely to be the quietest: The single fan 350W SmartPower that comes with the Antec SLK3700-BQE Antec Smart Power 2.0 400W Ener...
